Interactive Bear & Sliding Fish

Image
Hello again... welcome to another fun interactive card!  Yesterday I watched Laura's video on MFTv - I love all of her cute interactive cards and so I wanted to give this one a try.   I actually took an older drawing I had released back in 2013 and redrew it, upgrading it a bit.  This one is called " Fishing Bear 2.0 " and is now available at Imagine That Digistamp 😃  When you PULL the tab, 2 things happen...  •  the bear's arm pops up holding 3 fish on a hook, and •  the big yellow fish slides across to meet up with his friends! I added sparkly gold glitter pen to all the fish, including the one on the bear's hat. I did not do a tutorial on this, but I do have a short video clip of how it moves.  ( to view it full screen, click the white square icon in bottom right corner of video)   A FEW NOTES ABOUT MY CARD: I pretty much followed her video instructions.  I do not have the Meet in the Middle Die-namics -- instead I used my Word Window punch (retired) by Sta

Unicorns & Glitter - Color Throwdown 648

Image
Happy Sunday!  Today's card may look a li'l bit similar to my last 2 cards with pink clouds, but it is a bit different in that I alternated pink and orange when sponging my clouds, and added some green grass.  What do you think?  Loving this Birdie Brown stamp set from MFT called " Unicorns & Glitter ".  And btw... I DID mean to mount the top layer wonky, to show a li'l bit more orange on the corners.   I  recently started following a challenge blog called Color Throwdown and decided to play with this week's combo:  Pink, Orange, Purple, and Green! This color challenge ends tomorrow (Monday, 28th) so there's still a li'l bit of time to play!  I love a good color challenge... and/or a sketch!  It really helps me get started.   ♥ ♥ ♥ Stamps & Stencils:  (MFT) -  Unicorns & Glitter Stamps ;  Rolling Cloud stencil ; Cloud stencil Dies & Punches:  (MFT) -  Slimline Grassy Hills dies Paper & Ink:  (SU!) - Basic White, Black, Pixie Pi

MFT Color Challenge 2 Ways

Image
Hey there friends!   It's time for another color challenge at My Favorite Things !  I know, I know... you may be thinking, "But you just won their last challenge!" and you'd be right!  *still* giddy about that.   I am playing along this time for the sheer pleasure of creating with this color combo.... Pixie Pink and Lime Green!  They also threw in a light pink and dark brown and I created not one, but 2 cards using this combo.   Go check it out and enter for yourself!  Someone's going to be the recipient of a $50 gc to My Favorite Things !  BUT WAIT... check out my cards first, LOL!  The MFT team is amazing and I was inspired by Nicky Meek's card HERE  for both my cards (( ♥ the PINK clouds)).  The stamp and die set are called " Pawty Time " illustrated by Stacey Yacula. Next, I created an interactive SWINGing card using my digi stamp, " Marleen's Swing " and MFT's interactive Swing die-namics.  (all supplies linked at end) I do r

Best Catch Ever - Spinner Card

Image
Hello all!  First of all.... woot!  I just saw that I won a $50 gift voucher to My Favorite Things for being their random winner in the last color challenge!  The winner announcement and their new current color challenge can be found  HERE !   Today's card is made with a FREE stamp set that I got for ordering $60 or more on my last order with MFT and it's called "Best Catch Ever ."  I decided to make an easy spinner card for my 3-year old great nephew as he loves fishing with his Papa (grandpa) at their summer coast home.  Here's a short clip of the spinner in action... (to view it larger, click the square icon in the bottom right corner of video) I decided to go with a spinner disc instead of a slider because I didn't want him to have to try to figure out how to make it go (since he's only 3) and a spinner disc allows the whale to move as soon as it comes out of the envelope.   He's gonna love it!  ♥ With my $50 gc, I decided to get the matching di

Interactive Wheel + a Slider in One for Father's Day

Image
Hiya friends, It's coming up on Father's Day this weekend, so I made my husband a fun interactive card, combining a SPiNNiNG WHeeL and a SLiDeR into one! He's always giving me pointers on my interactive cards - sometimes really WACKY ones that I can't fathom, but this is what I came up with using my own " Humphrey's Rowboat " digi stamp set and sentiments from same set + the " Fishing Bear" set. The sky didn't quite come out as I had imagined.... but it works :)   Here's a short clip of it in action.... Goin' Buggy with MFT Sketch 546

Image
Hello friends - What's the Buzz?  Today's card features my own " Goin' Buggy " digital stamp set and this week's Sketch Challenge #546 at My Favorite Things blog. Here's the sketch How I made my card: I started with a 5 1/2" square piece of white cardstock.  Then I used the slimline grassy hills dies (cut from white scrap carstock) to use as a stencil for the bottom 1/3 of card.  Then I used the Cloud stencils for the top 2/3 of card.  Then I cut the circles out, starting with the center top circle and measuring to find the center of the card horizontally towards top and bottom of card.  Then I cut the side sections out.   Next, I cut my card base out of the Coastal Cabana cardstock at 5.5" x 11" and scored it in half.  Then I placed (not glued) my top piece with the holes cut out of it on top of card and adhered with some very low tac tape (post-it note tape!).  Then I taped my circles back into the empty spots lining up so they match th

It's Pawty Time with an Easel Card

Happy Sunday friends!   I made another card using the   Wednesday Sketch Challenge  at My Favorite Things  - it's such an easy sketch to follow.  I added Wink of Stella for a bit of shine on the ribbon and polka-dots, and doggie's kerchief and pom-pom. Once I was almost done, I really wanted to add the cute li'l banner at the top but it didn't fit the sketch, so I used it to prop the front of card up when it's opened (creating an easel card), by cutting 4 of the banners and gluing them on top of each other for dimension.  Is that cheating on the sketch?  I don't think so as it's technically on the inside :)   Here is the sketch - I turned it counter-clockwise 90 degrees  ♥ ♥ ♥ Stamps & Stencils:   (MFT) -   Pawty Time Stamps Dies & Punches:   (MFT) -  Pawty Time dies ;  (SU!) - Stitched Shapes dies,  Banners Pick a Punch Paper:  (SU!)  - Basic White, Flirty Flamingo, Granny Apple Green, Coastal Cabana cardstock; (patterned cardstock from my stash) I

Hello There - Another Fun Scene Card

Image
Hello friends!  I'm having so much fun creating scene cards lately!  This one uses this week's  Color Challenge at My Favorite Things... I'm also entering this in  Simon Says Stamp's   Wednesday Challenge: Create a Scene! I paired the Unicorns and Glitter stamp set (MFT) with the Welcoming Window stamp and dies (SU!).  The brick stamp is great for cards for my oldest daughter since she just moved into her first apartment (which is brick!) 🥰  ♥ ♥ ♥ Stamps & Stencils:  (MFT) -  Unicorns & Glitter ; Itty Bitty Basics ; (SU!) - Welcoming Window Dies & Punches:  (SU!) - Welcoming Window dies,  Rectangle Stitched dies Paper:  (SU!) - Basic White, Kraft, Granny Apple Green, Coastal Cabana cardstock Ink & Extras:  (SU!) - Granny Apple Green,, Coastal Cabana, Crumb Cake classic ink; Tuxedo Black Memento ink; Blending Brushes; Stampin' Dimensionals, (Scotch) AGT tape, 3M double-sided foam tape; (Copic & Artist's Loft) alcohol markers Thanks for visit

MFT Wednesday Sketch Challenge 545

Image
Hey friends!  Today's card uses the new Wednesday Sketch Challenge at My Favorite Things  and Simon Says Stamp's Wednesday Challenge: Create a Scene! I really like this sketch - so many things you can do with this one!  And be sure to go check out the MFT Design Team's card samples for this sketch for more inspiration! Here is the sketch - I turned it clockwise 90 degrees How I made my card: I started with a white piece of cardstock and stamped the li'l shooting stars randomly, then I filled in the stars with some masking fluid and once that dried, I then sponged my clouds over the whole layer.  Then I rubbed the masking fluid off the stars and colored them with Y11 (Canary) alcohol marker.   Next, I cut out my rainbow in the various colors and glued them down to the rainbow maker base and glued flat onto my cloud layer.  I added dimensionals to the back of the clouds.  I then stamped my sentiment on black with VersaMark ink and embossed with white e.p.  I then punche

Enjoy the Waves

Hello crafty peeps!  I found a new (to me) challenge called The Spot and this week's challenge is to use stencils as main image, so I had fun creating this scene with the sun rays stencil in my stash!  There's so many ways I could have made this into an interactive card, but I've made quite a few of those recently, so today I just wanted to keep it simple and see where my mojo took me.  Of course, Pinterest provides some great inspiration for card designs, and I had saved some ideas using the sun rays stencils and beach waves when I remembered I had drawn this Beach Floaty Girl back in 2015 and thought how fun it would be to pair it with my Under the Sea (fish & dolphin) digis! The sentiment is from my Beach Blanket Girl (also from 2015).  All digis used here are still available in my shop - and ON SALE!  (see links below)  You can also see more samples on the store blog here . I used white cardstock for everything except the pink base and used blending brushes to

MFT Color Challenge 166 - Pawty Time

How CUTE are these stamps?!   This year, since really diving back into cardmaking, I've purchased quite a few dies from My Favorite Things (MFT), and of course CLOUD STENCILS which are my favorite things right now. I also just recently purchased two stamp sets ---- 30% off on Wednesday Blitzday --- so I thought I'd put one to use and play along with their Color Challenge #166 this week:  ♥ ♥ ♥ Stamps & Stencils:   (MFT) -   Pawty Time Stamps ;  Rolling Cloud Stencil Dies & Punches:   (MFT) - Pawty Time dies ; (Stampin' Up!/SU!) - Stitched Rectangle dies , Banners Pick a Punch Paper:  (SU!)  - Basic White cardstock; Highland Heather; Grey Granite Ink & Extras:   (SU!) - Cool Caribbean classic ink; Stampin' Dimensionals, (Scotch) AGT tape, 3M double-sided foam tape; (Copic & Artist's Loft) alcohol markers Thanks for looking ~ Happy Inking :)
