Classic 50's Girly Birthday ☆ CottageCutz

Image
I'm on the CottageCutz blog today with another fun 50's card featuring dies from their  Black Friday Release!   I have used the   Poodle Skirt ,  Rollerskate ,  and the  Fifties Phrases #1   along with some older circle dies, all from Scrapping Cottage. The patterned paper with the cute polka-dots are from the  Celebrate pack  at La-La Land Crafts, and the gingham ribbon is Stampin' Up! This card is super simple to put together, but if you'd like detailed instructions, pop on over to the  Scrapping Cottage Blog  to read my design steps. This release is still  65% OFF  the entire bundle thru this Friday, Dec. 2nd!  In fact, their  Black Friday Blow Out Sale  is extended thru this Friday,  Dec. 2nd as well  - have you checked it out yet?!!  You can  SAVE up to 85%  on CottageCutz dies!!  Perfect time to stock up on some basics -- some slimlines -- or something else on your wishlist!   CC PRODUCTS I USED:               Want more inspiration?! Beary Christmas Slimline ♡ La-La Land Crafts

Image
Welcome back crafters!   Today's card is a slimline scalloped window card featuring the cute bears from the  Silent Night Clear Stamp Set  from La-La Land Crafts' November Release!   I've also used the new  Ice Floes die  along with the  Very Merry paper pack.   La-La Land Crafts does not carry slimline dies at this time, so I used the  Scalloped Rectangles die  and extended the die while cutting to get the length I needed for my slimline.  I also used the  Inverted Scallops Squares  to create the windows and then popped the red frame up with foam strips! I gave it some snow with my white gel pen, and I added Snow Writer "snow" to the trim on the bears' hats.  The snowflakes are from the Three Snowflakes die and I cut them from glittered cardstock (you can't see that in this photo unfortunately).   PRODUCT LINKS: Silent Night Clear Stamp Very Merry Paper Pack Scalloped Rectangles Die Inverted Scallops Squares Die Three Snowflakes Die Scalloped Sentiment L

Happy Thanksgiving to those celebrating today! CottageCutz releases a special collection for their  Black Friday Release  and this year it is a fun  Retro 50's theme!   It's a set of 14 dies --- all of which are on SALE!  Get the whole bundle at  65% OFF  --- or get any of the individual dies at  30% OFF !   I LOVE this collection!! HOW CUTE is this  Cinema Drive-In   Sign ?!  I've never personally experienced a drive in theater, but I imagine there were probably lots of  Motorcycles  mixed in with the cars, amiright?! ;)  I die cut all the pieces in white cardstock and colored with Copics (except for the li'l checkered squares at the bottom --- those are the wonky squares behind the "cinema" sign that I cut from black cardstock).   I created a simple easel card for this one so I could show off the sentiment which is as fabulous as the dies on the front of my card!  The "Fabulous 50's" die is from the Fifties Phrases #2 .  PRODUCT I USED:

4 Nativity Star Cards † Divinity Designs

Image
Hello everyone!   I created these cards a while back, and am finally getting around to posting them.  I do love to send out nativity cards for Christmas, and when I saw this video by Divinity Designs,   I knew what I wanted to make this year.  There are so many mix-n-match options with the 3 star sets, but I really loved the one with the nativity in the center (at 3 min. 30 sec.) so I played around with that design but in varied colors.  *This group photo doesn't do them justice at all!  It's hard for me to get the lighting just right when photographing metallic or foiled cardstock!   Navy/Gold/White Grey/White with silver flat-backed beads.   (I think this is my favorite!) Rich Razzleberry/Silver Foil with crystal rhinestones (no, I think this one's my favorite 🤣) Red/White with gold star and flat-backed beads. Would love to know which color combo of these is your favorite? DD PRODUCTS: A2 Portrait Card Base with Layer Flourished Star Pattern Die Shining Star Die Splenoro

Prismacolor Pencils on Kraft ♡ La-La Land Crafts

Image
Happy Friday, crafty friends! Today's card was my first time in a long time that I've colored on Kraft cardstock with my Prismacolor Premier Pencils!  Of course they're very different than coloring with Copic markers and took much longer to color and blend, but I like how it turned out.  This card features several of the newly released products from La-La Land Crafts! Here's a close-up of Miss Marci before I cut her out  :)  I cut her out and went around the edges with a dark grey Copic, then I traced some of the black lines in the image with a fine tip Sharpie for definition as the pencils do tend to cover up the black lines, as much as I try to avoid crossing over the lines, it happens!  :)  What do you think??! Peace Dove with Floral

Image
Hello friends - welcome back on this inspirational Monday ☺ I have a Christmas card featuring the Holiday Dove w/ Floral die from the Christmas Part 2 release at The Scrapping Cottage ! I played in the color challenge at Splitcoast Stampers again (# CC921 ): I got out my Let It Snow 6x6" paper pad from Doodle Bug Designs and found a paper that had all those cute colors in it!  So even though it is flowery, I think it totally goes with this beautiful die! 12 Months of Christmas Link-Up   Anything Goes with an optional twist: Use patterned paper And I played in the Tic-Tac-Toe Challenge #187 CUTTING & SCORING: • Thick White Cardstock -   5-1/2" square, top folding card base • Flowery paper from Let it Snow -  5-1/4" square  • Pink Hearts paper (oldie from SU!)  -   4-1/8" x 3-7/8" • White Cardstock - Die cut largest of the Nested Scalloped Rectangles  * With the extended cut technique to make it slightly larger than the Heart paper • White Cardstock - Die c

Double Z-Fold Santa Sleigh

Image
Welcome to my crafting La-La Land!   I have a Double Z-Fold Box Card today featuring CUTE new products from the November Release !   Z-Folds are awesome as you can create fun scenes to showcase alot of cute stamps/dies! This was my 1st time using Tim Holtz Distress Watercolor Pencils ! I tried a couple different papers including one that's a heavyweight for paints and watercolors, but wasn't happy with it.  I ended up using the 110 lb white cardstock that I use for my Copics - although you don't get a truly watercolor feel, but it does flow nicely.  I will play around more - and get some nicer watercolor paper for next time. ☺  Here's a closer look at these adorable critters from the Warm Holidays Clear Stamp Set . How I Made It: For my mats, I like to use 3/16" instead of 1/4" measurements just because I like the look of that better, but you can easily round these measurements up to the closest 1/4"  ;)  White Card Base = 4-1/4" x 11 - scored alon

Cookies 'n Cocoa Treat Totes

Image
Happy Monday crafters! ☺ I was inspired to make this treat holder from one of the new CottageCutz Christmas dies called  Cookies & Cocoa !  This holder is perfect for gifting a big cookie and a packet of hot cocoa mix for those friends and family who drop by during the holidays!  They can easily be made up ahead of time so you have some on hand!  I recently saw this video by MayMay Made It and thought it was pretty cute, but it wasn't until I saw the Cookies & Cocoa die from CottageCutz that I remembered this li'l treat tote and how it would be perfect with these new Christmas dies!!  So I used the basic shape, but I changed up the measurements to suit my needs.  I also came up with 2 styles of handles so your recipients can carry it with them.  After I made the first one using the Ginger Friends , I decided it would be best to show you how I did it in a video (at end of this post).  I used the Snowmen Friends   on my 2nd one.  Both versions use the   Cookies & Coco
