Make a Scene - Valentine Couple

Image
Hi, I’m back… for the 3rd day in a row—woot, woot!  I just HAD to get one more scenario sets from Digi Drawn and play in the La-La Land Crafts weekly theme challenge:  “ all white except for image ”.     Stamps I used are Darling Marci & Amour Luka from La-La Land Crafts , and then the Tea Party scenario set from Digi Drawn.  I added some fancy corners to my image and paper pierced holes in between them.  Then I added 4 doilies on my base layer and paper pierced around the scallops for an elegant touch and perfect for Valentine’s Day … OR an anniversary!  My hubby and I just celebrated our 15th wedding anniversary this week *Ü*

Mod Marci ~ Colby Caillat Inspired

Image
I am really enjoying this time off during Christmas break… although I thought my girls and I would be baking more, which we did a li’l bit of but these last couple of days we’ve been on a crafting spree… lucky for my readers as that means more eye candy for you!  (ha!) This is Mod Marci and I sat her on the newly released Garden Bench .    Are you familiar with Colby Caillat’s song, “ Bubbly ”?  This card is totally inspired by that song.  I stamped Marci first and then I masked her and used my Stamp-a-ma-jig for perfect placement of the bench.  I cut out some music notes with my Cricut and the grass is a die by My Favorite Things.  The paper is from this month’s Key Ingredients kit from Taylored Expressions.  Here’s a close up… THanks for dropping by ~  Ciao for now and happy INKing!

Make a Scene!

Image
Hi, I’m back today with possibly the most fun card I’ve made … this week anyways!  LOL.  I love playing around with digis and making a scene with them.   This one is “ Sweet Dreams ” by Digi Drawn.  Sitting on the bed is Capri Marci … she is missing her friend Autumn (in the picture frame on the wall).  But good thing she has her dog, Tuffy to keep her company.  When he’s out and about, she’s got lots of stuffed animal friends to play with, like Panda , and Teddy.  To add to the bedroom scene, I prettied her walls with some wall digi paper, and gave the carpet some texture in Photoshop.  Also added the frame in PS.  The zigzag stitching is done in sparkly gold thread to tie in the throw pillow and lamp.  *Ü*    Thanks for stopping by!!

Tent Topper Cupid Marci

Image
For today's papercraft, I made a  Tent Topper Card using the empty globe digi by Crafty Ann’s.   Inside the globe, I added Cupid Marci (that will be released on January 5 at La-La Land Crafts !)  and added some rub-ons for the sentiments and white hearts.    Here’s a close up of the sparkly gellyroll pen on her wings, and other: Thanks for looking!  Dontcha just love these Marci's?!!  I do ♥

Thanksgiving is Just Around the Corner...

Image
Today's card features the  Happy Pilgrims by Whimsy & Stars Studio. I created this card in "Jessie style"...because Jessie uses paper piercing on all her cards, and many times uses these li’l spiral doohickeys with ribbons tied on them. *Ü*  ( consider it a compliment when someone else tries your style… it’s the sincerest form of flattery !)  Thanks for looking!  Have a INKspirational day, and blessed Thanksgiving holiday!

New Whimsy and Stars Studio DT

Image
Happy Thursday... and Happy first day of September!!  *Ü*  First of all, I was recently asked by Mabelle of Whimsy and Stars Studio if I'd like to join her Fall/Winter Design Team and I jumped right on board!  Thank you so much Mabelle for this opportunity to work with your fabby digis and work alongside you and the rest of the very talented team for these next few months (my favorite months of the year)! *Ü* I’ve created this center step card using Alex Pumpkin . These cards are so fun to make... adds a bit of surprise to your recipient... and they fold flat for mailing in envies!   I colored my image with Copics.  The papers I used were from my Key Ingredients kit months ago and I added machine stitching on all my panels.  I couldn't resist adding the fence border... just brought the scene together *Ü* CARD RECIPE: Stamps: Alex Pumpkin by Whimsy and Stars Studio Paper: Key Ingredients by Taylored Expressions Coloring Medium: Copics Punches/Die Cuts: Fence bo

No Fear - Napkin Fold Anniversary Card

Image
Hello, I'm back with a fun new challenge at Stampin' Sisters in Christ Challenges !   2 Timothy 1:7 "For God has not given us a spirit of fe ar, but of power and of love and of a sound mind."   So the challenge is to try something that you might have been afraid to try before now (ie. a new technique, a new color combo, a new style --CAS if you are a layered stamper, or reversed)     I've gotta say that creatively, I am pretty fearless.  I actually love a challenge... and can't wait to try something new, so fear for me doesn't belong in the same sentence as crafting.  The only thing that holds me back at time is not having specific supplies.  But given this week's challenge I decided to make something I'd seen on SCS and that's a Napkin Fold Card which is perfect for my mom & dad's 44th Anniversary this weekend!   Happy Anniversary Mom & Dad, ♥ U! I didn't make a tutorial because that's already been d

I Found a New Love - {{The Paper Shelter}}

Image
… a crafting one that is!!  *Ü*   Hello again!  I don't normally post twice in the same day but I just HAD to get this posted so I could enter it for a challenge.  I came across a new digi stamp company yesterday and just had to purchase a few stamps!  If you are a digi-lover like myself, I’m sure you will fall in love with the fabulous digis at The Paper Shelter : I not only fell in love with their cuteness ( some of them remind me of Holly Hobby, Strawberry Shortcake, Sarah Kay, and the like ) but I also love their prices as well!!  *Ü*  Do I sound like an info-mercial?  Heehee, no I’m not getting paid to say these things… I just love em and HAD to share with you!! For this card, I colored up Quiet Moment with copics, adding a li’l sponging to the grass and sky.  The paper is from this month’s Key Ingredients kit from TE.  And guess what??  They have a CHALLENGE BLOG as well!!  This week’s theme is anything goes!  You don’t have to use their digis, but if you DO and yours w

Wild Rose with Ribbon Frame

Image
I had a wonderful week at the beach last week… but it’s also good to be back.  I will have to share more about our vaca when I can get my pictures organized *Ü*  Today I want to share a card I made with Doodle Pantry’s beautiful new set, Wild Rose .  There is also another flower in the digi set and comes with several sentiments.  I colored with Copics and then made this ribbon frame, which I saw on Yvonne-anabelle’s blog .  Her work is amazing!!  I cut the frame using 2 sizes of circle Spellbinders and added tape to the back.  Then began wrapping satin ribbon around, added a bow and then pop dotted it to the flower layer, which is printed on vanilla cardstock.  The flower center has some crystal effects with yellow and white glitter for a li’l pop.    CARD RECIPE : Stamps: Wild Rose digi set (Doodle Pantry) Paper: Annabelle (Prima); Inks: Copics Dies: classic circles & beaded circle (Spellbinders) Size: 6" square

Come *Dance* With Me

Image
Happy Sunday everyone!!   I'm finally back with a card to share.  The "lazy days of summer" have definitely kicked in for us here and I've been spending more time with my girls and less time crafting and computing... but I do have a couple more cards scheduled for this week.  =)   I made a TILT card using 2 pennies and a dimension, so this li'l mouse dances when you tilt the card! I used a cute li'l set from our sponsor this week, Designed 2 Delight .  It's called Dancing Mice and comes with another larger mouse with a cute tutu, and a couple sentiments, one of which I used here on the inside of my card. (INSIDE)   Hope you'll pop over to join us this week *Ü* CARD RECIPE: Stamps: Dancing Mice set (Designed 2 Delight) Dies: classic & scallop ovals (Spellbinders); SVG's: Summer Fun (Sherry K Designs) Size: 5.5" square

Doodle Pantry - Baby Horse

Image
Happy 17th Birthday, Ashley!! Today is my niece's birthday and I know she likes horses, so I colored up this sweet Baby Horse from Doodle Pantry.   The brown piece on here is some real wood paper and the green piece is double-embossed with Swiss Dots & Floral Fantasy Cuttlebug folders.  I colored the image with my Copics and the butterfly is an actual brooch I had bought at a Rock Hound show that can be taken off the bow and worn.   Thanks for dropping by!  Hope you have an INKspirational week!

New KID on the Way – DP Baby Goat

Image
So my niece is having a boy soon—in fact she started having contractions 2 mo.s early.  They got em stopped and she’s now home on bed rest.  Sure brings back memories as my last kid was 6 1/2 weeks early and I too was on bed rest.  Anyways… I made her this card to cheer her up.  This cute Baby Goat is from Doodle Pantry. That’s about all I got for now.  I apologize that I haven’t left blog comments much lately—it’s VBS week and so the kids and I have been pretty busy.  Hope to catch up with you all very soon!!  *Ü*

Sometimes it’s O.K. to Rock the Boat!!

Image
Hello!  I’m so glad summer is here!  Yesterday was so nice out.  We did some outdoorsey stuff like planting & watering flowers, and then BBQed gourmet-marinated chicken for lunch!  Then I went inside to make my card for today.  *Ü*  I decided to make a TILT card, hence my post title!  You can find directions to make a TILT card on SCS  here .   I combined 2 digi sets, both from  Designed 2 Delight,   Lakeside Shack   &   Quiet Sunset , and colored with Copics.  I punched some tiny holes in the boat and around one post and ran some embroidery floss to anchor the boat while allowing it to “rock”.   If you’ve never made one of these, I recommend trying it.  All you need are 2 pennies, a dimensional, and a craft knife!  *Ü*   Thinking this card definitely will go to my hubby next week.  Now to figure out one for my dad!  Be creative ~ Ink Something~

D2D Challenge - Paper Piecing

Image
It’s Your Birthday… eat something CUTE!! Happy Wednesday!!  This is my 2nd post for today, so please scroll down one for my HOTSPOT post *Ü* My card here is the one I made for my daughter’s birthday yesterday.  It’s also kinda for the Designed 2 Delight’s DT Challenge this week.  It’s to use paper piecing—which I did.  I used a mini cupcake liner and glued to the bottom of the cupcake. You have until Friday night to enter.   Here’s a close up of my Spring Cupcake .  I layered the icing and candle, popping it up & added Dazzling Diamonds for some SPARKLE.  Sentiment is computer-generated.

God’s Promises are Forever

Image
Happy Sunday!!  I have the privilege of being challenge hostess for this week’s Stampin’ Sisters in Christ Challenge *Ü*    Ecclesiastes 3:14 "I know that whatever God does, it shall be forever. Nothing can be added to it, and nothing taken from it. God does it, that men should fear before Him." Challenge: Follow this sketch to a "T" - not adding anything to it, or taking anything away from it. (you may however use various shapes in place of the ones given, as long as there is something representing each item in this sketch) Isn’t it comforting, in an ever-changing world full of unknowns and things that give us cause to worry, that we can depend on God to be constant… never-changing?!  He is the same yesterday, today and forever!! The last part of this verse says, “God does it, that men should fear before Him.”  I looked up various Bible translations for the word fear and found these: …stand in awe of Him. …be in awe of Him. …to make people respect Him.

Tutorial - Coloring Digis in Photoshop

Image
Hi I'm back with a tutorial for you.  I was asked how I colored my D2D digi, Bullfrogs n' Butterflies using Photoshop, so I thought I'd create a tutorial.  ( you'll see it's kinda long, but I think pretty thorough for those who need to SEE how to do each step )  *Ü*  I used PS 7.0 so it's an older version, however if your buttons look different, I'm sure you can figure out something similar. Remember, you can click these pics to enlarge to full size. TUTORIAL - How to color digis in Photoshop **IMPORTANT** This works for any images that have lines that are totally connected.  Some digis have disconnected lines for the outline and that takes an extra step or two.  I will try to cover those in another tutorial later on.  So be sure to pick a digi in .PNG FORMAT with solid, connected lines such as this Bullfrogs n’ Butterflies set from D2D!   1)  Open your digi in Photoshop 2)  Right click on the only layer* there “Layer 0” and you can rename the laye
