July Release - Reverse Easel

Image
Welcome back to my 3rd post for the July release at  La-La Land Crafts!   This release is a TON of FUN! You can see it all  here .   I'm excited to share today's card as it uses a Ferris Wheel die !!  How fun is this?!  Of course I had to make it SPIN!  I also decided to try a "new-to-me" card fold.  I'm not new to easel cards, but I've never tried this Reverse Easel before - what do you think?  Gives it a totally new look.  I was a li'l worried my Ferris Wheel and Luka with Ice Cream wouldn't be sturdy enough on their own, so I did mount a sheet of heavy acetate under my top white layers of easel and had it extend the rest of the way so that when the card is closed, it fills most of the card. Again, I used the  Best of Times Clear Stamp Set     for the bottom panel with the rollercoaster and cityscape background and I popped that panel up with foam tape so it can prop up the acetate and keep Luka standing up.   Here is the card in action, althoug

July Release-Carnival Box Card

Image
Hello - happy Friday!!  I'm back to share my 2nd card with you featuring brand new products from the July release at  La-La Land Crafts!  This release is a TON of FUN! You can see it all here .   For my card today I created a Double   Z-Fold Box Card , featuring lots of brand new products!  I should mention, this is much like the Surprise Pop Up Box Card I've done using a die, however this was done using my paper trimmer and the front Z strip is shorter and narrower than the SPUBC.  (Jenny did a tutorial on a slightly different version of the Z-fold box earlier this month  HERE . )   Featured on the front left is  Marci with Pinwheel Rubber Stamp Set ,  and the adorable carnival critters are from the new   Best Day Ever Clear Stamp Set .   This release also has a nice big stamp set called  Best of Times  and it is AWESOME!  I stamped 2 of the solid stamp strips from that set on the back right of my card in Spun Sugar and Picked Raspberry Distress Oxide inks (in hindsight - tha

July Release - Pool Shaker

Image
I am so excited for this new release week at La-La Land Crafts - it is FUN FUN FUN !   It's all about summertime fun - there's ice cream, pool parties, carnivals and amusement parks, oh my!!    For my first card, I created this fun pool shaker card featuring the new Sunshiny Day Clear Stamp Set and the new Pool die .  The background kinda reminds me of a pool , but it's new also and comes in a set of 2 called Carnival Stencil set   (the 2nd stencil in the set is featured on the card base in white pigment pink)  And one more new release product featured on my card today is the Scalloped Sentiment Labels!   We've been wanting sentiment strips for a while and these are so versatile and CUTE with the scallops! ☺ Sometimes when you have rounded shapes as a shaker, it's hard to get the sides to look good if using foam strips, so this time I die-cut about 7 or 8 pools and glued them on top of each other so you have a nice solid edge all the way around, but still gives

Pop Up Gatefold Card

Image
Happy Monday crafty peeps!  I have a fun and easy card fold that was a first for me, but certainly won't be my last as I had too much fun with this one!  I saw this card fold on Sam's channel here and thought this was perfect for the new  Flowers  die in the  Strawberries & Bees Release   at CottageCutz by The Scrapping Cottage. It's easier than it looks to make the basic card base... and from there you can make it as simple or detailed as you wish. ☺  This is a 6" square card when folded - and yes it does fold flat to put in an envelope!   CUTTING AND SCORING: White Cardstock: (1)  Cut  6" x 12"  - score along the  12" side at 3", 6", & 9" (1)   Picket Fence Slimline (1)   Stitched Sun, Clouds & Umbrella (2)   Flowers (1)   5" x 1/2"  - score at  1/2"  and  4-1/2"  (1)   4" x 1/2"  - score at  1/2"  and  3-1/2" (1)   2" x 1/2"  - score at  1/2"  and  1-1/2" Acetate (o

Coffee or Tea

Happy Friday!  This week, the design team was given the theme:  COFFEE to create with and I went with a TEA theme instead! And I ALMOST did it guys.... I stepped out of my comfort zone and almost created a soft color scheme with light blue, yellow and white ... but then this happened!! LOL!  I just plopped that magenta on there and then was stuck - literally, I glued it down!  So... I worked more of it in with the small Spring Blossoms around the letters at the bottom.  I was wishing I had some lemon dies but I did have fun with teacup die by stenciling it with the Floral Beauty stencil set and of course Me Time Molli stamp .  I also used the Skinny Letters to spell out "BESTEA" - a li'l play on words there ;o)   LLLC PRODUCTS I USED: Me Time Molli Rubber Stamp Hey Gnomie Clear Stamp Set Spring Has Sprung Paper Pack Floral Beauty Stencil Set Teacup Die Skinny Letters Die Long Flags Die Spring Blossoms Small Die Double Stitched Rectangle Die Scalloped Rectangles Die COPIC

Hello Honey

Hello ~ Happy Monday! I'm Guest Designing at CottageCutz by the Scrapping Cottage and it's my turn to host the blog where the design team is showcasing the NEW Strawberries & Bees release !   Having a daughter living clear across the country... for the 5th year in a row is super hard, so she is definitely one of my regular card recipients and today's card is just right for dropping a sweet hello!  I've used the  Bee Phrases  and  Flowers  dies.  How I made it: 1.  I cut a piece of thick white cardstock  11" x 4-1/4"  and scored it at  5-1/2"  to make a top folding card. 2.  I cut a piece of black/white striped paper from my stash at  5-1/4" x 4"  and adhered to card base. 3.  I cut a piece of yellow (Daffodil Delight) cardstock at  5" x 4"  and adhered to the black/white striped piece so that the stripes appear at top and bottom. 4.  I cut a piece of kraft (Crumb Cake) cardstock at  4-3/4" x 3-3/4" .  I mixed a bit of whi
