Envelope Box Card ☆ CottageCutz

Happy Memorial Day crafters! Before I get to my card... The Scrapping Cottage is having a huge   Memorial Day SALE  (thru Wednesday!) and you can save up to 70% OFF !!  Be sure to check that out!!  We also have a brand new release (not yet in our Design Team's hands!) that is Folk Art themed and the bundle is 65% OFF for a limited time!  Plus, all the individual dies in this new release are 35% OFF ! Ok, onto my card... I made an envelope box card for an in-person recipient as this one does not collapse down to fit into a regular envelope.  However, there is a boxy envelope that you can make that this 5" x 7" card will fit into and is perfect for gifting in person.  I'll share that link at the end.   For this card I used the Spring Tulips , the Springtime Bicycle , and the Thanks w/ Shadow dies. *Note:  if you need to watch a video on how to create this card, you can watch this one   here  by Sam Calcott of Mixed Up Crafts. Ice Cream is Always a Good Idea ♡ La-La Land Crafts

...unless you're a turtle!! ☺  I thought he'd be cute with Miss Marci on this  card, but then I thought I'd better put a disclaimer here in case anyone comes across this post that has a pet turtle and thinks about sharing their ice cream with it.   ***FACT:  Turtles do not have the enzymes to break down dairy products, so they can't digest it and it can be very dangerous to feed them dairy.  Anywho... I really love this colorful background, and since I made an extra one (for yesterday's tutorial ) I thought I'd use it again today and create a different look.   It wasn't until after I colored her outfit that I decided to give her mint chip ice cream... but then my greens kinda clashed, so I brought in the turtle and colored his body mint to match the ice cream. That's it Kris.... if there's something a li'l off but understated, why not make it stand out even MORE like you meant to do it!!!  Well... Im owning it, and I think it's Cute, Cute, Cu

Melting Ice Cream Background Tutorial ♡ La-La Land Crafts

Hello crafty friends! Today's tutorial is a quick, easy & vibrant background that I thought would look perfect for a unicorn ice cream party (keeping in line with our "SWEETS" theme this week)!  PRODUCTS USED What's the Scoop? Butterfly Thoughts ☆ CottageCutz

Today's card features some of the dies from the new Spring Release at the Scrapping Cottage , all of which are currently 30% off!  I've listed and linked all the CottageCutz dies I used at the end of my post. Design Steps: • I cut a pc of black cardstock to 6" x 9" and scored the 9" side at 4-1/2" for a side folding card. • I cut a pc of Soft Suede cardstock at 5" x 3-1/2" and layered onto black. • I die cut the 3rd largest Pierced Oval from white cardstock ---TIP:  after die cutting the shape and before I took it out of the die, I ran my scoring tool (small ball end) around the inside of the die.  This gives a much deeper embossing than running it thru machine with embossing mat.   here are the results 👍 (although, most of my oval ends up covered up, but it's still pretty! • I stamped a sentiment onto the white oval.  I didn't use my MISTI and I think the sticker was a bit crooked so I got it a bit crooked too.  Clear stamps are so much e

Garden Shed Gift Box & Pull Tab Slider Card ♡ La-La Land Crafts

Hello crafty friends!   So, I got a bit behind with my Club Kits from La-La Land Crafts as life threw me some curve balls and I had no choice but to put crafts on the back burner for a bit.  But I finally got to finish up these 2 projects using the April 2023 Kit-of-the-Month which is garden themed! I've also got a short YT video of these 2 projects, showing how the card interacts and a 360 of my box, below my photos. This card was soo much fun and quite easy to make!  Here it is in action ☺ For this Garden Shed Gift Box, I was inspired by Sam's Craft Shed Box here .  However, I wasn't happy with how easily the lid would fall off with the slightest bump, so I altered the underside to include a flat chipboard piece with a smaller box underneath (much like my birdhouse box here - except different measurements of course!) I actually did record over an hour process video of how I created this, but between rotating the video and transferring it back and forth to my external h

#1 Dad Overalls and Tools ♡ La-La Land Crafts

Today I have some Father's Day inspiration!   PRODUCTS: Nailed It Clear Stamp Set Just For You Background Stamp On the Road Stencil Set Tools Die Three Pockets Die COPICS: W2, 3, 5, 7; YR07; B45, 97, 00; R11; YG03, 25; E40, 41, 43, 53, 47 I stamped the gingham background (Just For You stamp set) onto the white cardstock and then sponged some of the same vintage photo Distress Oxide Ink over it to tone down the white.  I simply cut a slit in middle of the c.s. (at 2-1/8") and bent the middle down at a diagonal.   For the overalls, I wanted to give them a bit more texture, although I didn't have the "jeans" bg stamp or a stencil close to that, so I used the On the Road stencil and some tumbled glass Distress Oxide Ink.  Didn't really like the look, so tried to tone it down by spritzing it with water a few times, but alas, didn't work.~ but I kinda like it?  I didn't repeat the process on the pocket or the straps.  LLLC does sell a stamp set that coordin
