Triple Twisted Easel Card

Image
Time for 'Team Friday' Inspiration at La-La Land Crafts!  Our theme this week is 'Birthday' ... check out what the rest of Friday's Team created here . I've made a slimline   triple easel with a twist featuring Luka with Birthday Present rubber stamp, and 2 of the cute animals from the Hippo Birdie clear stamp se t . (links at the end of post) Because this was my first time trying this style of easel card and I was focused on which stamps I would use, I failed to realize when making it that if you have images sticking up past the square mat, that it won't fit into your slimline envelope!  OOPS!!  Sooooo.... I found a way to fix that.   I removed the panel Luka was on, glued small magnets to the back and mounted a new piece of white cardstock to the back of him.  Then I added the opposite magnets to the white mat that is adhered to the middle easel and wrote a note (pic below)  This way, I can send the card with the Luka piece on top (sideways so it fits in

Loss of Pet Pop Up Card

Image
It's always a sad occasion to make a sympathy card and today's card is for a friend who lost their beloved dog.  This card was pretty simple to make... after I played around with my critter builder dies and came up with the pup.   My card is 5 1/2" square when folded, even though it looks like the bottom layer is longer - its not 😉 I created the rainbows by layering all the circles from the Stitched Nested Circles Die set onto my cutting mat, spacing them evenly and taped them with Post-It tape.  After cutting I cut one more of the largest circle to use as a base to glue all my other colors to.  I colored the circles with Copics and glued to the base circle.  Then I cut the whole thing in half and used one half for my full rainbow, and I cut the other half in 2 to use as two partial rainbows on my card.   I used clear cardstock to create 2 li'l "boxes" in back of the full rainbow and adhered the back to the inside top of card, the bottom to the inside base o

Club LLLC Jan - Acetate Stair Step Card

Welcome back friends!   This is my 2nd post today... if you missed my first one, you can click HERE to see my 3D tunnel box card with a Northern Lights theme :)  Again, this card features January 2022 Club kit from La-La Land Crafts !  Such a fun kit to create fun scenes.  I created a  3-stair Step Card  and I wanted to make it look as though the kite (and sun) were up in the sky and off the card , so I used an  acetate card base .  It's actually a really thick clear cardstock, not just a window sheet or transparency, so it was perfect for a card base :)   I added a white piece of cardstock to the back to write a message on - the front of the acetate card is sandwiched between the green hill and the white message piece :)  ADDIT'L PRODUCTS: Double Stitched Hills Border Die Stitched Sun and Clouds Die   Mushroom & Grass border die   Long Flags Die COPICS : Raccoons: C1, 3, 5, 7, R00 (ears) Scooter & Sun: Y11, 14, Houses: BG11, 15, RV10, R83 Kite: R83, 85; BG10, 15 Gr

Club LLLC Jan - 3D Tunnel Box Card

Image
Hi friends!  It's time for more Club La-La Land Crafts January Kit   inspiration!!  :)  I'm having a blast creating cards with this kit.  As you know, it has Roller Skating Marci and some fun raccoons on a scooter and flying a kite in a 'Day at the Park' set.  So, I have 2 more cards to share today. My first one is a 3D Tunnel Box Card ( as demo'ed by Sam Calcott of Mixed Up Crafts ), and this Roller Skating Marci reminded me of the 1980's movie, " Xanadu " with Olivia Newton-John.  I saw it at my aunt's house while visiting when I was about 9 or 10 years old, hence the  rainbow on Marci's shirt, and the bright blurry colors on the card front kind of resemble the idyllic feel of that movie... OR could be the  Northern Lights , don'tcha think??  To get this effect, I sponged Distress Oxide inks in various colors and then misted water to get the white spots. While the  video tutorial I followed had 3 inner panels, I decided to just add 2 a

When Life Gets HARE-y...

Keep on rolling! Oh my goodness, how FUN is this?!  La-La Land Crafts came out with 2 new dies (in November's release) that are so versatile in creating your own critters!!  I used the Bear Builder and Deer Builder Dies to create a Roller Skating BUNNY !  The "keep on rolling" sentiment is from this month's Club Kit!   Most of this bunny came from the Bear Builder Die , and the hair & ears came from the Deer Builder set.  I also added some whiskers to this frazzled hare by pulling apart some baker's twine.  The wheels on the skates are actually the bear's eyes, and his eyes are actually the pom-pom on his hat (in the die sample).   I'll have to see what other critters I can make using these fun dies.   To get your hands on these cuties, follow the links below... Slider Diorama Card

January's Club Kit from La-La Land Crafts is a 'Day at the Park'    I've created 2 cards to share for today's reveal and they are as different as NIGHT and DAY!  (literally)  In this post I'll share my night version, and you can see my day version HERE . These playful raccoons in this kit are fun.  I decided that since they are nocturnal critters, I would make this guy play in the park at night!  🛴🦝🌳 And just about any scooter image BEGS to be turned into a slider, amiright?   With just a tilt of the card, he rolls across the park on his scooter! This is folded just like a bridge card, but instead of just one small strip going across the front, I put a full-panel piece with a window cut out of it and then adhered to the side flaps of the card base.  This card fits in a 5" x 7" envelope.  Here's a view from the top: ADDIT'L PRODUCTS: Summer is Here Layering Stencils Stitched Nested Circles Die Stitched Sun and Clouds Die Horizontal Pocket Die

Love is in the Air

Image
It's Inspiration Friday @ La-La Land Crafts and the Design Team's theme for this week is 'Love is in the Air'!    I've recently learned that you can dry emboss with your stencils!  So I embossed my white background with the Hearts & Harlequin stencil , then added the white clouds popped up for a cute airy sky.  I did add some light grey shading to my clouds, although hard to see in this photo.   The panda is from the ' Love Notes ' digi stamp set and I thought he looked like he could be floating up on a cloud.  :)  I cut the string to the balloon out of the image and inserted some baker's twine.  I backed my embossed layer to some dsp from the 'Love You More ' paper pack, then adhered to a white card base.  The red in the photo is my envelope ☺ Tomorrow is the 15th which means it's CLUB KIT REVEAL DAY!  Are you excited to see what January's kit will be?  I'll give you a li'l hint.... I love the way you roll!  That's all I

Birthday Shadow Box Card

Image
Happy Friday everyone!  I have some news that I'm super excited to share!!  In addition to joining the Club La-La Land Crafts design team (in November), I was recently asked to join their Team Friday Design Team as well!!  How FUN is that?!  I honestly am still trying to pick my jaw up off the floor.  Seriously, their design team is so talented and their products top-of-the-line, I feel very humbled and honored to have been invited to join this amazing team.☺   SO... my first project for 2022 La-La Land Crafts   Team Friday is a card I made (a couple of weeks ago, actually) for my husband's birthday, which is on Christmas day!  So I made this Shadow Box Card with traditional Christmas colors, and I just HAD to include this truck as he's a mechanic and hunter, so his pick-up is one of his treasures.... although his is not nearly this cute!! LOL  ;)   Shadow Boxes are fun to make, and can be made the diy style by measuring and cutting BUT... I do have to say that this Shad

Club LLLC Dec - Double Slider Tutorial

Image
Welcome back!  It's my 2nd post for today featuring December's Club La-La Land Crafts kit !   If you missed my  Shaker Card from my earlier post today, you can see it HERE . This Double Slider Card is easier to make than it looks and it gives that surprise factor for your recipient without the need to explain to them how it works!   (Keep scrolling for tutorial) When you pull the strings or tab on right side, BOTH side panels are revealed at the same time!  How cool is that?!!  These Pixies are so cute with Fairy Marci .   Here's a li'l closer up look at the left side.  I added Wink of Stella to the pixies' wings to make them sparkle!  I also created a tree using the Stitched Hills die and I turned the Grassy Island upside down to resemble the foliage of the tree. ... and a close up look at the right side In addition to the December Club Kit,  I also used these LLLC products: Scalloped Rectangles Die    Stitched Nested Circles Die   Sparkle & Shine paper Sti
