Loss of Pet Pop Up Card

It's always a sad occasion to make a sympathy card and today's card is for a friend who lost their beloved dog.  This card was pretty simple to make... after I played around with my critter builder dies and came up with the pup.

My card is 5 1/2" square when folded, even though it looks like the bottom layer is longer - its not 😉

I created the rainbows by layering all the circles from the Stitched Nested Circles Die set onto my cutting mat, spacing them evenly and taped them with Post-It tape.  After cutting I cut one more of the largest circle to use as a base to glue all my other colors to.  I colored the circles with Copics and glued to the base circle.  Then I cut the whole thing in half and used one half for my full rainbow, and I cut the other half in 2 to use as two partial rainbows on my card.

I used clear cardstock to create 2 li'l "boxes" in back of the full rainbow and adhered the back to the inside top of card, the bottom to the inside base of card and the front to the rainbow.  It folds flat for mailing and as you close the card, it pushes the rainbow/doggy forward.

I originally wanted the dog to be much higher on the rainbow, but his head was sticking out the card when closed, so I had to lower him.  I left the bottom half of the lower part white to write a message.
