Secret Garden Gift Box

Image
Hello crafty friends *Ü*  I made a "Secret Box" that I found on Pinterest which led me to a tutorial on my favorite go-to sites, Splitcoaststampers.  You can find the tutorial for this box HERE . My hubby and girls recently bought me a big new rotary cutter for my birthday, which I LOVE (the blade never needs replacing -- is that hard to believe, or is it just me?)  but it doesn't score, so I finally purchased a 12" Simply Scored board from Stampin' Up! plus I bought the coordinating 12" diagonal board that fits right on top of the base.  Love, Love!!  So I went looking for some fun projects I could make and came across this Secret Box. I started with some beautiful watercolor-looking patterned paper from an older Taylored Expressions kit and continued the Garden theme with my embellishments.  I used one of my digi sets, " Fuschia & Hummingbird " as well as some oval dies from MFT and the gorgeous floral Butterfly dies from Serendipity.

Double Diamond Fold Card

Hello!   I admit, when I'm in the crafting mood, I love to try new fancy fold cards.  I saw this one in the SplitcoastStampers Newsletter once and haven't had a chance to try it until now.  You can find instructions on their site here .   This is actually a thank you card for my mom -- I was sure when I planned my whole card that my die with phrases had a "Thanks" sentiment but it didn't, so I opted for "hello" and wrote my thank you note on the back panel :)   The two Koala images are from my Koala digi set , here . Below is a pic of the card closed.  I punched a couple small holes on each inner point of the bigger diamonds and ran a piece of polka-dotted ribbon to hold it together.  The overall dimensions of this card I believe were 7" x 6" so I used my We R Memory Keepers Envelope Punch Board to make my envie - it was a perfect fit!  :)    Thanks for popping by today!  I hope I've inspired you to INK SOMETHING :)

Mini Pizza Pizza Box

I got a li'l crafty today using the new  Love You 2 Pizzas  set.  This digi was perfect for a "Mini Pizza Box" - I followed the tutorial on SCS  here .  What a fun li'l box to fill with a cookie/candies or maybe a pizza gift card? or other for a special someone you love. I used my lasso tool in PS to remove the sentiment in between the boxes and pasted them on a separate part of the cardstock.  Then I printed the image twice so I could pop up one set for dimension.   When making this type of box, you don't want to wrap the ribbon completely around the lid (like I did at first) and tape it because you won't be able to lift the lid... it needs room to "unfold" when lifting.  So, I then cut the ribbons at the back corners and taped those down.  (see pic below)  It would prolly be fine there w/out decorating the back edge of box, but I went ahead and made it match the rest.  :)  Of course to match my digi on the front, I added a r
