Neutral is Beautiful

Image
I'm getting in on some of the Dirty Dozen's "Dare to Get Dirty" week-long challenges in celebration of their anniversary!!  I'll admit, I've been seeing it, I've been hearing about it, but today was my first day digging in and getting "dirty" with a challenge, Lol. This one is Jacksonbelle's "Use brown and black" challenge. I discovered a couple months ago how FUN the kraft paper can be!! But I never paired it with black, and I really like it! :) I've also seen the fabo cards in this gallery all with the same color scheme, so my mind's full of possibilities....however--there's so many more challenges to try, so I prolly should move on. Don't worry--I'll revisit this o ne later!! :)

Delight in Life - TY

Image
Another TY card that I made tonight for a VBS helper--didn't have time to post it earlier. Delight in Life is one of my favorite sets. I cuttlebugged some designer paper and I love that all the colors in the paper I was able to find a SU! color to match! :) Yes, I did stitch the pink layer on, and the dots on the white scallops are done with a tempting turquoise marker. :) TFL!

Happy Birthday Ashley!

Image
This card is for my niece, Ashley who just turned 13. Yup...I'm a little late with it, but that's okay, I'm going to pick her up tomorrow and keep her for the rest of July, so we're planning to throw her a surprise birthday party at the pizza place when we get back on Saturday. I used my SU! Pallete O' Prints for the green layer, and Apricot Appeal, run thru the CB with birthday folder and then sponged Close to Cocoa ink over raised parts and edges. The scallop is done in Chocolate Chip c.s. and I just used my fiskars cloud scissors to trim edge. If you look really closely you can see that I added Crystal Effects to the dark brown and the pink bumps on the turtle's shell. I almost used today's sketch challenge for this one, but I just really like the effect of this one better. You can see a whole gallery using this sketch HERE .
