It's a Girl!!

My cousin had another baby girl, Peyton Aricka. Her middle name is very special because it has "Rick" in the middle, which is my uncle that just passed away (baby's grandpa) and "Ari" backwards is her other grandpa's name. I still love my retired SU! set with this adorable bunny. I bought it used, but am getting quite a bit of use out of it. Papers are Daisyd's "Maybe Baby Collection" and again, I paper pieced (Love that technique!).

Nikkis FABO Blog Candy

You've GOT to go see what Nikki has up for her 10,000 hits blog candy--you won't want to miss it!

Paisley Cat

Here is another stamp I bought from CuddlyBuddly.com. =) LOVE this cute little paisley cat. I cuttlebugged the Certainly Celery with the paisley folder to match. The other layers are Tempting Turquoise, Groovy Guava, and Chocolate chip. OH, and the ribbon came in my "Pay it Forward" package from Kelly L (this HAD to have some *yarn* on it, right?)!! I thought it needed a saying, and this is the only thing small enough to fit right there (Year Round Puns, by Papertrey Ink). I wanted to put "Birthday Blessings" but this will do. I can always write it on the inside. Thanks for dropping by!

Charley-N-Willow

Meet Charley and her horse Willow!! Don't they make a cute pair? I placed an order at CuddlyBuddly.com and got them in the mail today! I cut 'em right away and got a chance to ink this one up. I'm so excited to get to play with the others as well, so stay tuned! =)

The colors actually match perfectly IRL. The paper is from the "Maybe Baby Collection" (Daisyd's), and the heart buttons are by Making Memories. Her skirt is paper pieced. I've done that before, (been a while), but I came across Cami's tutorial today and it inspired me to do that with *Willow*--LOVE that dp pieced look, don't you? If you haven't tried it yet, you should!

PIFs and RAKs

This CUTIE is from one of my ladies that I PIFed to, as a thank you for sending the package. She also sent me these "thankful" rub-ons! Thanks so much, Tamara!! =)
And below is the PIF I recieved from my friend Kelly. THANKS SO MUCH KELLY!! Included was a bunch of stamped images, ribbons & fibers, mulberry paper, and some large scrap-paper. LOVE it!! You're so sweet, thanks a bunch.

Groovy Hanna

(pumpkin & almost amethyst dp (su!) and close to cocoa dp (basic grey)
I don't know what sparked this color combo--guess they were just laying on my desk and at the time they looked good together, hmmm....What do You think? I can see the "Groovy" set used with these colors can't you? Maybe add some lime green in there--ewe!! LOL =)

Anyway, this is for my neice who's staying with us for the summer as my babysitter. She just turned 14 today. Thank you Donna for sending me these super cute images!! I know you sent me a happy birthday saying with these, but I can't find it! So, this works just as well. I'm really behind again with the challenges. Did you participate in yesterday's sketch challenge? It's SUPER cute. Hoping to get one done this weekend. Tonight we're going bowling and eating pizza there for her birthday. G-ma and G-pa are coming too. Should be fun. Ciao for now!

Just Because...

I had the idea in my head to kinda piece the background using my deisgner paper, but I kinda messed up with the placement and colors, but I still like how it came out. I think a long piece should've gone in top right and smaller on the bottom? Then I went back through the sketches to see if it matched a sketch. The closest it comes to is SC21. Picture came out dark, but it's a Wild Wasabi textured cardstock base with a black panel on top and then the wasabi/red layers on top. The bottom right (real red) layer is also patterned paper... can't see that in this pic, but it's the tiny flowers and swirls design. I layered the turtle on So Saffron and Black. This cute turtle is from Whipper Snapper Designs, and the sentiment is from a clear dollar set that my sister gave me. Must be nice to live so close to a CRAFT WAREHOUSE!!! =)

A FUN Stamping Weekend

Hi...I'm back with several cards to show you! My sister came all the way down (to bring my niece for the summer, and) to stamp with me!! :) We had a lot of fun. We got 4 cards made yesterday, had a BBQ at my parents house and played games like Mad Gab--soo funny!! Anyways, here they are:

My Punny Valentine (Papertrey Ink)

Stephanie (Whipper Snapper Designs)

I KNOW I saw this new sketch somewhere, (the Stephanie card) but can't remember who's it was? If anyone knows, please tell me so I can post that as well. Guess I won't be entering it if I can't remember where I saw it?? ;)

Pun Fun (current) & Vogue Verses (retired) both Stampin' Up!

(Same as above)
The last two use sketch challenge #180 on SCS.

Bubble Love

One more card before we go on vacation ; ) This is too late for Jen's del Muro's weekend sketch challenge last week, but I thought it was too cute to pass up. I used SU!'s double-sided designer paper in Wild Wasabi and Pretty in Pink. This cute image is called "Bubble Love" by High Hopes. I tried to find the song about bubbles, but this will have to do for now, lol. :0)

Poems-N-Pictures

Here's a project that the girls and I made for their daddy. They were each in charge of their page. The poems are great--Maddy cracked me up! She also drew an elk, cause daddy loves to hunt them.
And here's Carly's page (again). Cute huh? All the doodles are sparkly (couldn't have it any other way, could we? lol.
And here's my page. I'm really hoping it isn't too girly for his desk at work? The colors I think are okay...maybe the flowers are a little much, but HEY!! He lives with all GIRLS! :D
Thanks for looking. I hope you all enjoy your Father's Day.

SIDE NOTE: We are going on vacation this week, so won't be posting much. Then my sister's coming to stamp next weekend, so I should have a bunch (hopefully) to share after that. Bye for now--and happy stamping!!

A Card and Father's Day Gifts

Here's a cute little number I made toady (C.A.S.E.D. from Susiestampalot). I LOVE this polka-dot set, and don't use it often enough. I really needed to get inspired to make some birthday cards for the ladies in my life, and Susie inspired me to get out this ol set again--thanks!! The colors I used are Pretty in Pink, Apricot Appeal, and Chocolate Chip. I LOVE buttons--don't know why I don't have more of those! ;P The sentiment is from Stylized Flowers by A Chemistry With Paper, and the Flowers are by SU!

AND NOW FOR FATHER'S DAY GIFTS: My daughter (9 yrs) wrote this poem for her daddy and used sparkly gellroll pens to doodle. I plan to make a project later today with this, another poem by my youngest daughter, and the picture you see at the right (he still hasn't seen that one).

And here's one of the gifts I put together for my hubby--I took this picture of him and the girls at the coast a few years ago. He's seen the picture before, but not like this...and I'm sure he's forgotten about it by now. I used my newly found photo editing software to change the picture to a negative and to black and white and printed them--(I'm going for an artistic effect here). I typed a verse and a saying on my computer and put that in there as well.

The verse says "A good man obtains favor from the Lord." Proverbs 12:2 and after Father's Day it says, "May the blessing of being a father remind you of how valued and honored you are in the eyes of the Lord." - created for you on June 15, 2008. And last but not least... I got him a new camera he's been wanting to take on his hunting/fishing trips. It's a Panosic Lumix 8.1 mp.

WHOO HOOO!!!!!

I FOUND MY EDITING SOFTWARE!! :D I literally screamed for joy this morning when I found my cd with photo editing software. I was missing it ever since my computer crashed about 3 or 4 weeks ago!! SO, now I make my header look better (not so jaggedy) and add special effects. It's not like PHOTOSHOP or anything (though I only WISH it was!!), but it came on a cd of vacation pics that I had Wal-Mart put on cd and the software came with it. I happened across it today only because I was looking for a certain picture for Father's Day. God is sooo good! If it weren't Father's Day tomorrow, it could've been years before I would've looked in THAT cd case! lol. YEA ME!!

Things I Wish I'd Been Told...

...about HAMSTERS!! ;)

Awww...they're cute little critters, aren't they?? As most of you know, we bought our girls hamsters (for M's 8th b-day). WELL... let me just tell you about their new "dig". It's Saturday morning, 7:30 a.m. and I'm up doing the usual, and wanting the kids to SLEEP IN. And what do the hamsters do? They fill their pouches up with food, crawl up to the wheel and start running. They either LOVE the sound of all the food rattling around, or they like the food smacking them in the butt every second!! Hmmm....

SO, with one hamster still in the wheel, I carefully tilt it so all the food goes to the center compartment and dump the food out. I put it back in place and she's like freaking out, "WHERE IS MY FOOD?" "WHERE'S MY LITTLE BUTT BOUNCERS?" I proceed to get my breakfast (after washing hands of course!) and 2 minutes later, she's back up in the wheel with all her food again!!
this has been going on for a few days now. But NOT ON A SATURDAY, PLEASE!! lol.
But I've gotta say, they are soo much fun to watch. We've never had hamsters before, but I figured, they're small, don't eat much, no problem! Well... I just HAD to get the purple & pink sparkly fun center for them (thinking my girls would LOVE that!.. which they do because they aren't the ones cleaning it at 9 p.m.!!) Yup, we started out thinking the girls would be in charge of everything having to do with these critters. Little did we know, just how hard this darn piece of plastic would be to clean after both hamsters got "wet tail" (diarhea) and stunk to high heaven!! Here's a picture of the cage:

It's hard to get apart because with it being plastic, it could break. Then what would do? The pet store is an hour away! Dad and I took it outside, dumped it, hosed it down, I filled about 4 buckets of hot soapy water and carried it outside and we got it cleaned up. What a pain that was. But, after all that...
Who can resist this face...

ME!!! I can!!! Can I take them back to the STORE NOW??? PLEEEAAASE!!!

The End.

(yes, we still have them...of course! I just explained what happened this morning, and like I said, the pet store is an hour away! No animals were harmed during the making of this blogisode. Thank you very much, and have a great weekend!)

Some Easy Scrappin'

I kinda came around to doing these pages of my daughter's baptism by accident today. I was pulling out scrap paper for another project when I realized out of all my hoards of dp, these papers were the only ones that matched my pictures!! What a coinkydink, huh? : p Funny too, because they are suppose to go together, and it just so happens that someone sent me these paisley chipboards a while ago and they are the perfect accents to tie this blue page in with the orange. BTW...my pics aren't really crooked...I took the picture crooked and cropped it down lol. I put stickles on the paisley chipboards and on the yellow paisleys in the orange paper. The blue paper actually DOES HAVE quite a bit of purple in it. Can't tell from the photo.

Thanks for stopping by. I thought about having a poll to see how you like my new blog look but I figured, "why bother, I'll be ready for another change pretty soon!" LOL. :D Take care!!

A Sketch Challenge

I'm "back in the game"...finally! It's been so long since I've had a chance to participate in any of the challenges on SCS. Today's challenge was this sketch. I decided to go monotone with this cake image. I got this one at the Dollar Tree! :D I love how it looks with a little stickles in places. You prolly have to click the picture to actually see all the glitter. I also used my mat stack from SU! with double-sided designs (Almost Amethyst). I'm so bummed that I still do not have my old photo editing software. The picture is still dark and I can't add any text, so no Copyright logo of my own :( Does anyone know of a freebie I can download to do this? OR if I were to buy a custom-made one from one of you talented creators out there, if I have to have certain software to use it?? Thanks!

PIF update: For those 3 of you that responded to my "Pay it Forward" challenge, I have them ready to go and will mail on Thursday. Thanks so much for getting your addies to me promptly!! :D

Paying it Forward...

What a great movie! If you haven't seen it, you should. The world would be a better place if everyone "PIF"ed. The idea is that "if you can't pay someone back, you should Pay it Forward." One person decides to PIF to 3 people, and each of those 3 PIF 3 more people...it multiplies like crazy!! :D What an awesome thing to do. Here's a link to the real story.

Well, this may not drastically change one's life, but it may make your day in some small way ; )
I accepted a PIF from my blogger friend Kelly, so I in return would like to PIF 3 more bloggers with some stamping-relating items. If you'd like to accept and commit to pay it forward to 3 of your choice, please leave me a comment here. I'll PIF the first 3 who respond.

A Royal Wedding

My nephew got married yesterday and their colors were dark royal blue with silver accents and the flowers were peaches and mauves. I tried to get a descent picture of this card to no avail. The lighting makes the right side look yellowed, but its not.

I stamped the Stampendous stamps onto shimmery white c.s. (SU!), punched the right side with Martha Stewart border punch, and went around the whole outside of the white with clear stickles. The flowers in the border have clear rhinestones for centers. Her bouquet is actually peaches with a tad bit of rose marker for definition (I know they look light pink here). OH, and all the roses on her dress have stickles on them, so her dress is very sparkly IRL. :D

Sympathy Cards...

more like "Thinking of You" cards. I really don't like the idea of "sympathy"... especially when it's family members. I had such a hard time coming up with something. I didn't want them too simple as they might look like I didn't put any effort into them. I know I'm thinking too much about it, huh?
Anyway, thank you to those who gave me ideas!! I do get a little frustrated when I find a cute simple card and I don't have a stamp anything like what the stamper used :( I'm really not very creative on my own, lol. So, I went searching for ideas using my sets and here's what I came up with... inspiration came from {teneale}, and Zindorf's masterpieces ; )

Thank you so much ladies for all your warm thoughts and offerings of prayers for my family, and for the encouraging emails. You gals are such a great souce of support and friendship. Thank you from the bottom of my heart. (I know... I'm a li'l sappy today, what can I say?)

I used the same sets for all of these... Baroque Motifs and Garden Collage, both SU!

Now I have to make a wedding card. My hubby's nephew is getting married tomorrow!! No sense in doing now what I can put off doing til the last minute, eh? Isn't that the saying? LOL...haha (no, I know it isn't).

Card 1: Kraft, white & vellum c.s., white embossing powder, white satin ribbon, Papertrey Ink's Butterfly Kisses
Card 2: Blush Blossom & Artichoke c.s., white gel pen, thick pop dots (for bird)
Card 3: Soft Sky, Chocolate Chip & white c.s., white gel pen, sponges, chocolate/white polka dot satin ribbon
