Whoops--Wonky Links

Sorry gals! It's been brought to my attention that some of the links in my blogroll are not linking correctly. I think it's 'cause Instead of adding them "as a linking list," I added them as text and so when I add someone, it copies the html link from the person before or right after the new one? SO... instead of trying to figure out all of them, I'm going to delete and add them as links *slapping forehead* which is what I should've done to begin with! Aren't computers wonderfuL? I know what you're saying..."it's not the computer--it's the person running it!!" :D LOL. If I don't get your blog link back here, PLEASE let me know ok? I don't mean to purposely leave anyone off. THANKS!!

My New Stamp Space Revealed!

Since so many of you commented and wanted me to post pics of the new space, I thought I'd induldge you, lol. It actually has a little tweaking--like the bottom shelf needs smaller brackets cause I had hubby cut the shelve depth down, and the counter still needs a couple reinforcement legs. Here's a before shot of my tiny, cluttered "work space" in front of my computer: (oh, and uh...sorry if the pics are a little blurry!)

And here are the shelves and counter that my wonderful hubby put in for me!! :D

(My new granite top 10 ft. counter!! Goes wall to wall - it's a small room!)

(OH, and those stamp sets on the top shelf--ya...I can't really reach those without a stepstool, so those are my "overflow" sets that I hardly use but can't stand the thought of parting with them, IN FACT, here's a pic of the top of my desk on the opposite wall--my hubby made that for me too!! :D )
And there you have it! Oh ya, my stamp space is still "The Den" so we didn't change the decore--still outdoorsy stuff that my husband loves.

Double Technique Challenge

Today was nice. The girls and I worked hard this morning getting the house cleaned so they could have a friend over this afternoon. So while they played, I decided to get caught up on some challenges I've been wanting to try! This card combines TLC160, which was to use the Negative Cuttlebug (? did I say that right?) and TLC161, which was to make a Flap Fold card.

The first part was so fun. I used my new cuttelbug folder in a way I've never even thought of. I inked up my brayer with Regal Rose and brayered right onto the negative side of the inside of the folder! Then I washed it off right away so the ink wouldn't stain, however with the classic ink I doubt it would stain it. Then I inserted my pretty in pink c.s. and ran it through the CB. After I cut off the "messed up" part and added some scallops I thought it was waay too much pink, so I "grounded" it with some Wild Wasabi--LOVE that color! ;D

Then I remembered this week's TLC was to create a flap fold card, so I went for that. My measurements are not the same as theirs because I didn't want to cut my pretty embossed paper down, so mine is 4.25 wide instead of 3.25. The flowers on the scallop are from the "Stylized Flowers" set from A Chemistry with Paper. I stamped the large flower onto the pink circle then stamped the smaller one on a scrap piece, cut it out and mounted on top. This card does not use anythign special to close it but I didn't want to add ribbon around the whole thing. I used temp. tape for the picture, but I'm sure I'll find some way to close it before mailing :D

Another Shout Out!

This one goes to Erin of Paper Pleasures! I just found her blog right now and I LOVE her fabulous creations. If you haven't been there, please go--right now! :D

EDITED TO ADD: And one more goes to Andi Mead of Family, Friends and Stampin' Up! She's one very talented lady--go check out her amazing blog as well! :D

Nope, Make That Three...

...Horse cards in one day :D

For this card, I used this week's Color Challenge, #159 which is Soft Sky, Going Grey, and Whisper White--and I've gotta say, it's perfect for this horse image. I was wanting to make a grey horse anyway, and if you read my first horse post, you'd know that my neighbors have 2 horses; a brown one named Eagle, and a grey one named Grey. (He actually has a long name with 4 or 5 names, so we just shorten it and call him "Grey".) So, here's to Grey!

I used my new cuttlebug folders here, paisley and spots and dots. The soft sky c.s. is textured--I LOVE the textured cardstock, don't you? Anyway, I watercolored this guy on whisper white and after mounting, I added these westerny diamond brads since that corner was kinda lacking.

The sentiment is from Papertrey Ink's set, "Year Round Puns"--I like the font on it. This card's going to my long-time friend of 21 years, Katy. She's in college right now and this summer is going to work on a ranch in Montana! Thanks for dropping by!

EDITED TO ADD: For those of you trying to find this Serendipity horse stamp at MDC, it's on order but you can email her and get on the waiting list for it! ;) Here's the link: http://www.mothersdaughterscreations.citymax.com/catalog/item/5468893/5402420.htm

Pretty in Pink?

Two horse cards in one day--Whoop, Whoop!! :D I'm on a roll today, and I have in mind another one using this weeks' color challenge, but my girls want a family movie night tonight and we'd better get started, so I'll make this quick.

I loved the idea of this Basic Grey paper with this horse--it kinda reminds me of western wear (?) but I think maybe it's too busy behind her. The ribbon actually matches a little better IRL than it does here. Anyway, Thanks for dropping by!! Oh, in case you're wondering, I got this stamp at Mothers & Daughters Creations for under $10!! Go check them out!!

A Horse Named Eagle...

Funny name for a horse, huh? Kinda like my cat named "Squirrel" -- really!! My cat used to sit up on her hind legs and eat with her two front paws...didn't work so well with canned food, lol.

ANYWAY, this horse image resembles our neighbor's horse, Eagle, except he has black hair. He's a beauty, and so his brother, Grey. Maybe I'll make him next! :D This is for my horse-crazy niece who's coming to visit for half the summer again. She's so excited to ride horses and go swimming at our new Aquatic Center.

This image, called "Mustangs" is from Mothers & Daughters Creations. I saw this gorgeous horse on Lynda Benden's blog and HAD to get it. I used SU! Double-sided paper pack called "Outlaw" and I used SU!'s "Baroque Motifs" swirlies on the striped paper. The base and frame is textured Choc. Chip. I used my silver with brown flowered corner brads that I received from my secret sis, Kandi Kwirant--THANKS SO MUCH KANDI!! And now for my "mess up" :( I used choc. chip ink to stamp "Friendship" at the bottom, but it didn't show up with the brown pattern, so then I stamped white craft over it, which did NOT do it justice--blah, yuck!! So, I resorted to stamping black craft over the white. It shows up, but I'm not crazy about it. I would prefer to have the brown, but oh well. My 13, soon to be 14 yr. old niece will love it. :D Now I have to go back to work. Hopefully my craft room will get done SOOON!! Hubby's been too busy to work on it. But I love him anyway. :P

OH, BY THE WAY... WOW! You gals really like my new template, huh? Thanks for all the comments you left me. I've never had so many comments, and every one of them were very positive, so I guess this is here to stay...for a while anyway. you all know how I love change ;o) CiaĆ³ for now!

So What Do You THink?

I like both this look and my old blog look (the one with the cartoony gals & bright colors), so which do you like better?? Be honest!! I thought about doing a survey, but I'll just leave this post here and you can comment here if you'd like...you can even post "anonymously" if you want to. Thanks! :D

To answer all you sweet gals out there, YES--we had a wonderful Easter weekend!! We had a very wonderful and meaningful Easter Service and then went to my parents for ham dinner & all the fixins. They hid plastic eggs filled with candy for our girls and gave them baskets with treats--and I'm so proud of them that the contents of their baskets are STILL in their baskets and not in their bellies!! :D LOL. I did end up singing that song "Why" during our service and seriously, I about lost it when I looked at people and saw half of them wiping their eyes! But it was good and the sermon was awesome. A really great day. My kids are on Spring break this week. I took them to the dentist today for 6 mo. cleaning--and then shopping. Then we played the rest of the day! And when I got bored, I changed up my blog!! Lol. So, seriously, LEAVE A COMMENT and let me know which you like better, because I saved my old template in case everyone hates this one. ;D CiaĆ³ for now!!

Easter Blessings

I got my Papertrey Ink set "Everyday Blessings" in the mail today--just in time for Easter Sunday tomorrow. These two are for my parents and In-laws. I searched SCS for ideas and I came across Cllstamper's card where she made this great background with the stamps--Loved it, so it's a CASE! :D I really do love all the verses and sayings in the set, but I ended up printing my sentiments with my computer. The card on the left, I used Clear Stickles on each of the cross points and one the right, I used crystals. Haven't bought Papertrey's new colors yet, so here I used Celery and Pretty in Pink.

This blue/yellow card was my first one made with this set. The colors look a little funky here, but the ribbon is Soft Sky (SU!) and so is the card base. The yellow and darker blue is from Creative Memories. This idea was also CASED, from Lauren (My Time). Thanks for looking and I wish you all lots of Easter Blessings.

Pun and Punchy Fun!!

Yep...I finally used my "Pun Fun" set (SU!) for a couple cards and the flower and ladybugs are made with my punches!
(click the pics to make larger)

Colors: Wild Wasabi, Real Red, Brilliant Blue, Black, Summer Sun, White, Prints Pack (hostess)

We still are not done with the room. We've been too busy with life to get it worked on :( SO, I found some of my stamping "Stuff" and worked at the kitchen table yesterday. These are for some of my friend's kids. I have one more but somehow it got put in the mail without a picture taken of it. It used Papertrey's set Butterfly Kisses. Beate's cute hippo card inspired my hippo card--Thanks Beate!!

Well, I hope you all have a wonderful Easter this weekend! I'm singing this song ("Why" by Nicole Nordeman that's playing now) for special music at the Good Friday Service at a different church on Friday and at our church on Sunday. Then we're going to my parents' for a ham dinner and egg hunting for the kids. Fun, fun! Do you have any traditions planned?

Palm Sunday and A Great Find!

First of all, my "Great Find" is Sharon Rivera's blog that I just came across today!! I LOVE it--she's a very talented stamper and has so many cute projects and cards just in the first few pages I browsed today!! Go check it out!

Secondly, today is Palm Sunday and all the kids sang in church. It was sooo cute!! They do what's called "Worship KidStyle" and they do motions to the songs. We usually have 10-13 kids and even the boys were singing their little hearts out today. The last song was "How Great Thou Art" but put to upbeat music and the 2 little boys knew it and sang really loud--out of tune, but it really made us chuckle and brought [happy] tears to my eyes. Soo darn cute! Anyway, here's a pic of our girls after church.

Hope you have a super week and here's a link to that Easter video put to this music in case you'd like to see it. The clips are from "the Quest for Camelot". I think this song goes with this video much better than with the "Passion of Christ", especially since it's coming from a child's point of view. Enjoy!

New Stamps and a New Stamp Space!

We're almost done with installing the new counter (10 ft.)! but still need to work on the shelves that go above it. '(I'll post pics of the new room when it's completed--might be a while!) It's driving me crazy not being able to stamp all last week, so I pulled some stuff out of storage because... I got news stamps today!! Thanks to Cathy over at Crafty Thoughts, who turned me onto a new stamp company called "A Chemistry with Paper." I just LOVE their clear stamps!! :D So, without further ado, here's my first card with this new set "Stylized Flowers" (click to view it larger)
It's so hard to see that c.s. is cuttlebugged when you use dark brown, but I used the folder Birds and swirls. The stamped bird is from my other new stamp set called "Big Backyard"--LOVE that one (same company). Stay tuned to see cards made with fences and trees and maybe even a puppy from that set!

Here I stamped the small flower with Pretty in Pink and the outline with Regal Rose and added crystal rhinestones to centers. The celery layer is from the Pallet O'Prints and has the white dotty flowers and leaves on it. Thanks for looking! ;D

HELLO AGAIN!!

Well...in case you're wondering why I haven't posted these last few days...my craft room is getting a little make-over, but my hubby's not done making the things he's gotta make in order for me to put everything back in there and stamp. I'm lucky I still have my computer up--cause I'd be totally lost without that! So, here's a card my sister sent me yesterday--just cause. :D She's getting a Cuttlebug finally!! She found all the cuttlebug stuff at Joann's for 40% off this week, so she decided to get some. She used the SU! set, Loads of Love here.

Sweet Magnolia

These Magnolia stamps are so cute! My friend Trina McKercher sent me several in a card and I am just falling in love with them. Here is my first "Tilda" card. (you can click the pic to enlarge)

I'm still learning about proportions and what makes sense with layouts etc. I ordered some paper from Mothers and Daughters Creations and they sent me some free 6x6 samples of their new paper. I just had to use this one with my sweet Tilda. I ran the choc. chip oval through cuttlebug with the divine swirls, so I thought this swirly butterfly from Papertrey Ink would go well with it. Then, for a saying, I cut out just the banner from a stamp from "So Many Scallops" set (SU! SAB set). What do you think? I have a few more -- stay tuned!! :o)
