Still Waiting for my Computer

What we thought was going to be a 2-3 day wait has turned into a 10+ wait. SO, I thought I'd just poke my head in here for a second to say hello and hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving!! I actually made 3 Christmas cards today, 3 loads of laundry and cleaning my kitchen, so I feel accomplished. I'm very thankful for my two girls who are such a help, and joy to have around. My oldest (10) has been a little clingy lately, but it doesn't come very often, so I'm enjoying having her around. My family went to my MIL's yesterday for a big meal--there were 26 of us in her little house!! We were so honored to have Paul Wright and his groupy there along with the base player from Calling Simon. They came and ate with us and then some of us went out to his car and listened to their music a while. My girls are just enamored with Paul--they have all his CDs, which I'm perfectly fine with because he's Christian. They sure get shy though around them :)

I did really well with not over-eating, which was a little hard considering all the wonderful food displayed ;P Some of us went for a walk afterwards. The kids went out and played around the barn and searched for fossils. They always find animal bones out there--there's just a lot of strays around there. Anyway, hope you all had a great day, and hopefully I'll get to upload my cards very soon!! :) Ciao for now!

OH YA--One more thing, Kelly's Online store is offering 40% OFF now through Sunday, so be sure and check out her inventory. (Use Code "BLKFRI" when you check out). She's got lots of Nestability dies, C.C.Designs stamp sets, and lots more. She'll also be carrying Magnolias starting in January. If you decide to order, please tell her you found her on my blog, or that I referred you as she has a "Refer-a-Friend Rewards" program! :) I'd be very grateful!!

Puter Probs

Happy Thursday stampers! I've been having 'puter problems this week, and now (as I'm typing this from work) it's at the doctors. We just bought a new hard drive for it a couple months ago, but now it needs a new motherboard (it wouldn't even start up for the guy), an updated video card (for all those games my girls & I love to play), and more RAM. Hopefully I'll have it back soon, but it won't be before Monday evening, so until then, I won't be posting...but I WILL be stamping--that way I'll have some things to show you when I get it back and running. computer crashed shortly after I got my new banner up and here at work I don't have it saved in favorites, and for the life of me can't find it even in google, the name/blog of the lady I got my banner free from. I really want and need to give her credit, so if any of you recognize this (it didn't come with the blue bow) could you PLEASE tell me who it was? The download had 3 different banners. Thank you!! Have a great weekend!!

A {Heartfelt} Thanks

Thank You to Michelle of Laycock Designs who helped me fix my banner problem I was having. She just happened to be on FB last night and offered to help center it for me and I really appreciate it. She makes incredible banners and watermarks, so if you're looking to change up your blog for the Holidays...or Just Because...please visit Michelle's website! :)

Misty Forest

Going back through my cards I realized my style is very "cutesy"--I really don't have many masculine or sympathy cards, and though I love the vintage look--I couldn't pull it off if I tried. However, I came across Michelle Zindorf's tutorial for this card, so I gave it a whirl. It's really easy to do, but lots and lots of sponging. It took me 2 tries and well, I won't tell you my mistake here Blushy Overall, I'm pleased with how this came out, and I'm sure the recipient will appreciate it. Have a great day, now go "ink something!"

There She Goes meets Basic Grey

Hi there! If you're a fan of 'There She Goes' then you've seen a similar card like this before. I loved Jessica's pink trees, so I set out to kinda CASE it, but with this week's SCS sketch in mind. Then my panel was too large for the sketch, so I chucked that and just framed it with the same coordinating Basic Grey papers. The front green panel is on dimensional tape so it stands out away from the back green panel. That tree on the left looks a little silly so low, but if you look down from the top you can see the trunk stamped on the back green layer. Hope you all have a wonderful weekend get some time to "Ink Something!" :)

Victorian Beaded Ornament

Here's the ornament that my moms will be getting this year for Christmas. I try to make a different collector design for each of them for birthdays and Christmas.

My picture didn't turn out real great...kind blurry, it's much prettier IRL. I purchase mine HERE.

Just a heads up (if you purchase kits from them) I had to call in and have them send more beads and the 2nd page of instructions that were missing.

School Pictures

I don't have anything stamped to show you today, so I thought I'd show off my girls' school pics. Carly looks so preppy there on the left, doesn't she? And I wanted to get retakes of Maddy with the blue background, but she didn't want to, so it is what it is. She's still beautiful...I know, I'm a little partial ;) The school changed companies/photographers this year and we don't get a cd or online. But I'm hoping to get the girls to town and get some pics of them together for Christmas cards this year. Haven't done that in quite a few years.

Birthday Balloons

Happy Tuesday, stampers! :o)
This is a card I made for 2 challenges: A Spoonful of Sugar Challenge #25, which was to make a kid's card; and I used Beate's Weekend Sketch Challenge #65 for my layout. This cute girl image is a Magnolia--don't know the name of her? Anyway, I sprinkled Dazzling Diamonds on her wings, and used a little sparkly gellroll pens on various parts. The circle blue layer is cuttlebugged with the snowflake folder. That's about it! :) Thanks for dropping by! OH, and Congratulations on all the new DT members joining ATS!! How exciting!! I can't wait to see all your wonderful creations posted in their forum and blog!

A Spoonful of Sugar Sketch

Hello stampers! I'm back with a Christmasy sketch :) This was for a Spoonful of Sugar's sketch (that my sweet friend Trina came up with). This Magnolia was an image sent to me in a swap--isn't she adorable? Would be great for Valentine's cards too, but I'm SO in the mood for Christmas lately.

I added Crystal Effects to all the sugar cookies, and the added gold heart hanging under the green bow says "Made with Love." These papers are gorgeous together, don't ya think? I just bought them yesterday at our local scrap store that's going out of business. I only bought 2 sheets, so I'm thinking I better get some more as it's scrumptious for Christmas cards :)

TLC - Circle Medallion

I finally got a little stamping done today. This week's TLC was to create this circle "medallion" using a corner punch. Very easy to do and took very little time. Those of you who have this punch know about that little "v" at the bottom of the scalloppy part and since we're not sticking a corner into it, I covered it up with some stick-on pearls. I think it really adds a little elegance to it. Here's the gallery on SCS where you'll find all the uploads using this medallion.

Halloween, an R.A.K. and a Bouquet

These were my chickadees this last Halloween. My girls are on the end, and the M&M is Carly's best friend, Idalis.
and secondly, I want to send a public THANK YOU to Nikki for her sweet gifts she sent to my girls for halloween, as well as this adorably decorated notebook (& pen not pictured) for Carly's birthday!! I LOVE this horse and girl and you did such a wonderful job on this. She loves it as much as I do ;)

...and lastly, just want to say again how much I appreciate all your wonderful comments and condolences and prayers while we grieve the loss of a wonderful man--my FIL. His services were wonderful. Our immediate family took up 3 pews at the church, and then another 2 were filled with other family. Here's a beautiful bouquet that was sent by one of his sisters that we got to take home to enjoy:

Today when I walked into work, my boss was on the phone and he told me a few minutes later that his DIL's dad just passed away this morning, and not only that, another lady at church passed away yesterday. I am not as close to these people as I was, obviously, to my FIL and Marie who passed away last week, but the mood is still a tad somber. At least I have my hubby back and am back to a normal routine again. I'm so thankful for family and friends and am optimistic that this week will go much better...starting right now! :)
