Hippo in a Jar ♡ La-La Land Crafts

Hi crafters!

Our theme this week at La-La Land Crafts is "Fun with Stencils!" I used the snowflake stencils from It's Snowing Layering Stencils and used it 2 ways.

I loved this pretty mint green cardstock in my stash, so I die cut it using the Scalloped Rectangles Die, but extended it to make it into a 5-1/4" square. I then used the snowflake stencil and ran it thru my machine with the embossing mat and plate to give the stencil some dimension. I then used my Snow Writer as stencil paste and spread it over my stencil and added various sized dots and set aside to dry. I love the dimension it gave. Here's a close-up:

I then die cut the largest Stitched Tags Die from white c.s. and used the stencil to ink blend some mint green ink.

The li'l hanging stars in the jar are from the Crescent Moon die. I thought that gave a cute li'l holiday feel to my jar. I popped up the jar/trees/snowbank with foam tape. And I just realized that I forgot to add some shadow under my hippo in the snow. Oops! ☺
