Hello friends! This week's theme at La-La Land Crafts is to make it 3D! I decided to make a multi-layered Shadowbox style card using the Forest layering dies for my opening on the front two layers, but I turned it sideways, so I could have a vertical opening.
All layers were cut from white cardstock then ink blended with Distress and Distress Oxide inks. There's a 1/2" between each of the 3 layers. I cut the front layer 8-1/2" x 6" and scored the longest edge at 1/2" and 1-1/2" on each end. The front (when folded) is 6" x 5-1/2". The middle layer was cut to 6" x 6-1/2" and scored at 1/2" on each of the longer edge. And the back was cut at 6" x 5-1/2"
I used Distress Oxide inks for the very back layer to create light from the lamp post and some pretty blues and purple for a night sky. After I inked the front 2 layers, I sprayed them with Dylusions Shimmer Spray in Vibrant Turquoise and Fresh Lime.
These hippos are the cutest, aren't they?! This was alot of fun to create. I hope you'll join in the fun this week by making a 3D project and sharing with us in our FB Fan Group!
