Texture Paste & Dazzling Diamonds

Hello again friends!  Today's card is just an extra card I made for fun!  I love it when I have time to just get crafty with my stash.  And I was in the mood to make a Christmas card.  I tried something new to me... texture paste with glitter on a stencil!  Boy was it messy!  How does it always happen, no matter how much you try to contain the glitter, it still ends up everywhere ... and I'm sure my next few projects will have picked up some of it, LOL!  This card turned out much different than I had planned, but I think I kinda like it!  Although it looks more simple than I had planned... maybe I need to add gold cardstock behind the houses??  (This gold cardstock isn't as yellowy as it looks in my photos.  I used the gold metallic cardstock from Michael's.)

I guess you call this a Z-Fold card ... (I know, again with the Z-folds!, LOL) but this one is a li'l different.  I think the others I've made recently were actually called Double Z-Fold cards with that added strip across.  This one doesn't have that extra strip, so it's just a simple Z-Fold, but it does graduate down from back to the front panel which gives it a nice look.

I started with 2 regular A2 (side fold) cards, then later -- after I die-cut and stenciled-- I turned one so the fold is on the right and the other is on the left, then I interlocked them.  So it was important that I die cut the snowbanks the same on that middle panel so they would line up exactly together.

I used some texture paste (from Gina K) and mixed in some Dazzling Diamonds glitter and spread over the stencil from It's Snowing Layering Stencil set.  I did add a li'l more glitter on top of the texture paste while it was still wet, then set aside to dry and worked on the next piece.

The houses are from the January 2022 Club La-La Land Kit and are die cut separately and glued onto the back. I added some glitter glue to the rooftops to make them sparkly.  ☺

I added a piece of acetate behind the houses on just that front (shortest) panel so I could glue the larger star from the North Star Die in the sky.  I also die cut a 2nd one and glued it to the back of the acetate in the exact same spot so it would look nice on the back.

I then covered die cut 3 more Snowbank pieces for the back to cover up the bottom of the houses and make it look more finished.  It also provides a nice place to write a message!

I spelled out PEACE with the Skinny Letters die, and the 2 reindeer are from the Filigree Reindeer 1 and Filigree Reindeer 2 dies.   The bow on far right is from the Jingle Bells Wreath die and it's not blue -- it's iridescent cardstock, and then I pieced some gold cardstock in the center of the bells.

That's all for today.  I think I'll try some less messy cards for Christmas this year.
