I Just Plane Love You

Today's cards feature the August 2022 Club Kit from La-La Land Crafts!

Just a reminder that tomorrow is the LAST DAY to get this aviation themed kit, either as a stand alone kit or as a subscription kit (lowest price)!  Click HERE for all the info &/or to purchase!

For this first card I made the plane fly over the rainbow and I'll show you how I did it. ☺

HOW I MADE IT:

Parakeet Party (green) - cut at 5-1/2" x 11" and scored at 5-1/2" for a top folding card base.
Pink Passion cardstock - cut at 5-1/4" square.
White cardstock - cut at 5" square

I stenciled clouds onto the white 5" square piece, then attached it to the pink square, then onto the green card front. Then I stamped and fussy cut my bunny and die cut all my pieces (plane, rainbow, clouds).

To make the plane FLY over the rainbow.... I used one of the li'l wheels from the Truck Die and placed it at the top of a piece of acetate.  Then I placed my top cutting plate mostly over the wheel, but not covering the very bottom portion of it, so that the die doesn't cut through a section of the acetate as shown:

It will make a dent on the bottom part, but won't have cut through it.  Then I used my paper trimmer to cut each of the sides of the acetate up to the side edges of the "wheel" creating a piece like this:

Next, I glued a small spinner disc to the cloud layer, a lil below the middle center of card.  If you don't have a plastic disc, you can use a tiny flat-topped button, or even a washer or coin etc. IF using something like this, you will need to adjust what size circle you use for your pendulum.  The wheel from the Truck die fit perfectly around my disc with room to move freely around it.

Next, I cut a circle larger than my disc, using the smallest die from the Stitched Nested Circles Die set and glued it onto my disc.  This will prevent the acetate arm from coming off your card!

Next, I added 2 layers of foam tape to the back of my rainbow, but ONLY on the lower sides, by the clouds, you don't want to prevent the plane from flying between the foam tape!  Adhere over the pendulum.

I stamped my sentiment onto the front row of clouds before attaching to my card, and glued some li'l puffy trails.

I then added 2 layers of foam tape to the back of clouds:  the 2nd row of clouds I only added the foam tape to the SIDES on the back.  And since the very front row of clouds was below my pendulum/disc,  I added foam all along the bottom of card to attach that row.

I glued a coin to the very top of the pendulum to help the plane fly better, then I attached my plane on top.
