Happy Sunday bloggy friends!! My card today showcases the brand new "Formal Luka" from LaLa Land Crafts. Also released with him is Fancy Marci... sooo CUTE! These 2 images are available as DIGIS for a limited time on the LaLa Land Craft's Blog!
So... yesterday my sister Kathy and I challenged each other to use these new digis ... I was to use Luka and she is using Marci (and it's sooo cute so be sure to hop over to Kathy's blog) ... AND we both used Carly's newest sketch as well, which is sponsored this week and closes on Thursday, Nov. 18th, so go check it out if you'd like! ☺
I admit that I don't make masculine cards very often at all. I had 2 daughters and no boys--even when I make my hubby a card it tends to be slightly feminine ;) But when I thought about what to do for this card, I thought of using my real wood paper from McMahon Five Designs. (I used Teak Wood and Walnut). It's so rustic and perfect for male cards. And then as I was trying to figure out what to do for that strip in the middle (sketch) it just clicked!! Make that strip a TIE to "tie in" the one that Luka is wearing!! ☺ So I grabbed my Luxury Stack of DP from Die Cuts with a View. I also paper pieced his tie and pocket plackets with the same DP! =) The "D-a-D" letters and the pocket watch I peeled off of a tag I bought real cheal that was too big for my card. If you don't like something... RECYCLE it! =)
My dad's birthday is the first week in December, so this will go to him. He was a pastor for almost 40 years and is very used to dressing like this formal Luka--I think he'll like this!
Thanks for stopping by!! Have a Blessed Sunday ☺
