...with a stylish new backpack!!
FIRST DAY OF SCHOOL JITTERS:
My girls are in 3rd and 4th grades this year and for some reason, we were all a little anxious! One of our elementary schools closed down, so they split up the kids between the other 3 schools and we got about 70-80 new students this year. Both of the girls had a couple of friends in their class from last year, but they each made a "newbie" friend today!! I'm so proud of them. I took them to their classrooms a little early to meet their teacher, and of course gave each of them a hand stamped card to start the year off right ;) I hope today went as well as yesterday. We joke to our other adult friends about how it's good to have the kids back in school, but secretly I really miss them and it's still hard to let them be away from me most of the day. (maybe that'll wear off by next week, huh?) Lol. Ciao for now
What says back to school better than a lunch pail or a backpack? I found this really cute gift box tutorial over at Becky's blog, Inking Idaho. Here's a picture of the backpack sideways:
and here's the back:
It's basically a 2,4,6,8 box (slightly different dimensions) with a pocket on the front, flaps, and straps. I added velcro on each of the flaps so they stay closed. These are so cute and fun to make!! Try one for yourself!!FIRST DAY OF SCHOOL JITTERS:
