A Wedding Concertina Card

I took a li'l time off from painting trim boards today (we're getting the outside of our house ready to paint) but it got so hot this afternoon I needed a breather in my nice air-conditioned house.  :)  So I popped over to one of my new favorite blogs, Amanda's to find this gorgeous Concertina Card and tutorial.  I've never made one before this, but since my husband's nephew is getting married in a few weeks, I thought it would make a nice wedding card so I gave it a go!

This might look a li'l Christmasy, now that I'm looking at pictures of it, LOL.  Didn't mean to do that, but the paper was kinda vintagey and floral, so I went with it.  For the front I brought out my old Monogram set, I can't even remember who gave it to me, but it's perfect for wedding or invitation type cards.  Amanda used the SU! Tag Topper Punch, but since I didn't have one I faked it by using Spellbinders Labels 14 and only running it through part way and then I used an SU! horizontal punch thingy that cut it out for the ribbon.  The inside letters are from older SU! stamp sets, I'm sure they're discontinued by now - sorry.  and the li'l butterflies are from SU!'s Sizzlets and a MS punch.  Here's a few piccies...

This style card can be folded like the above to fit into an envelope, or... like this for giving in person.
The ivory crinkle ribbon was a gift from my friend, Diane Noble who hand-dyed/crinkled them!

it's so hard to get good pics since it's sooo wide, so I took a couple up close shots as well...

not sure you can see it, but I added some doodling around inside of each white layer with a clear jellyroll pen.  When the light hits it, it looks gold.  really pretty, just hard to photograph :)

Pop on over to Amanda's and find a new tutorial to try - she's got lots!! :)

Thanks for visiting. xx
