Thanksgiving, 2014

This year's meal was very special, not only because we had my folks over, but because my 14 yr. old daughter made the whole meal!   She wants to be a chef someday and she's well on her way.  I don't think I got off very easily though as I was the cleaner-upper and trying to hold my tongue and let her do her thing was incredibly difficult, lol.  Anywho, she planned the meal, shopped for groceries and made the entire meal, which consisted of  turkey, mashed potatoes (w/ her "special ingredient")  & gravy, sweet potato casserole w/ pecans, green bean casserole, delicious deep-fried scones with honey butter, pumpkin pie & apple pie.  Other than the pumpkin pie, it was her first time making all the other dishes and they turned out perfect!

We also had pumpkin bars w/ cream cheese icing that my 16 yr. old made because she doesn't like pie, I didn't have any, but they must have been good as she ate plenty for the both of us lol.  She also prepared the lovely table setting, even ironing out the table cloth, collecting (& baking the bugs out of) li'l Juniper cones for the candle centerpiece, and using the Cricut to cut out swirlies & squirrels, and acorn name plates.  It was very special - we had a blessed Thanksgiving.  Here are some photos...

I threw in my 2 cents by printing my Pilgrim digis and making wrappers for the Salt & Pepper shakers! ;)

The girls both collected some of the brown leaves outside and dipped them in paint or sprayed some gold and used red and orange finger nail polish to them - they looked awesome!

In the photo below you see the dish of triangle shaped scones - they are like dinner rolls, but are deep fried and she made honey-butter for them.  Yum!
She stuffed the turkey with apple & lemon slices, onion & garlic and added more in pan around the turkey, and then cooked the turkey upside down for the first hour and then flipped it right-side up for the remainder and it turned out so juicy and delicious!

Hope you had a blessed holiday and wishing you all a wonderful weekend!!

New for 4th of July

Happy 4th of July!!  I know I'm really behind in posting this, but Diane and I just finished putting together a KD-Kit that's perfect for scrapping those 4th of July photos or making some last minute decorations  :)  And better yet.... this is a SUPER DEAL because right now you can get it half off which makes it only $3.25 USD!!  All our kits are normally priced at $6.50, which is still a huge value.  This set also comes with outlines if you prefer to color these up yourself.  But if not, we've done the work for you and makes crafting very quick and easy.  :)

Here are some samples using this kit....

Ballerina Shadowbox Card

Both my girls have been in dance for years - they tapped and did ballet when they were younger, and Carly stuck with ballet and will be in Pointe class this year.  Maddy has been doing Hip Hop for 4 seasons and is also in Jazz.  Their recital is coming up in 2 weeks - will have to share some pics of them in costume later.

With it being Dance Recital season, I came out with 2 new Digi Sets... "Ballerina" and "Tap Dancer."   Here's a shadowbox card using the Ballerina (inspired by my dd, Carly)
I printed the outline version but colored her in the same color scheme as my pre-colored version in the set... I guess I had these papers in mind when I sat down with Photoshop, lol.  But I do prefer using outlines and coloring up an image myself - I think it's fun to color and they also do better in photos.

I don't have a Tap Dancer project made... yet!  But Silvi (from my DT) has posted one today using Tap Dancer and Barb and Tania have also used this Ballerina!  So hop over to our DT BLOG to see them all!

Saturday Market - June 7, 2014

Well, given the fact that today is HS graduation, and across the street was a big parking lot sale, the first day of Saturday Market in the Park went okay.... not great, but okay.  Dad tried selling his jewelry & wooden clocks, however the booth next to us was all wooden clocks, except theirs had gorgeous calendar pictures on them. Mom had lots of crocheted beanie hats in cute characters like owls, snowmen, frogs, and some with just flowers etc. as well as baby booties, afghans and quilts, aprons and stick horses.   She sold 2 horses.  And my girls and I tried selling lots of paper craft items, including many bags of cards (10 for $10) and we sold one bag.  Hmmm... 5 hours (3 of those in the sun), and $25 rent for our spot.... we might have actually broke even today!!  I told mom, if they don't sell next Saturday, let me put pictures up on Etsy - I'm sure they'll sell there!  LOL.

(my mom on right, and my daughter on left)
The bags of cards above is just a sampling - I had a huge tub full of packages sitting below the table!

Fundraiser for my Girls

Happy Memorial Day weekend to all our U.S. friends!  And hope the rest of you are fairing well too *Ü* Some of you know that my daughters, Carly & Maddy are trying to raise traveling funds to get them from our home state of Oregon to Washington D.C. next month to compete in the National History Day competition (  They each won 1st place in their divisions at the state level at Concordia University last month.  It's a great honor and opportunity for them, but it is a non-funded program which means we have to raise the money for their plane tickets (not to mention all traveling and lodging for a parent to go with them cross-country).  Carly is in 9th grade and did a research paper on "Kennewick Man".  The theme this year for the contest is "Rights and Responsibilities".  And Maddy (8th grade) did an exhibit on Helen Keller.

Thanks to one of my team members, Jenn, who gave me the idea for this, we decided to do a li'l fundraiser for the girls using Carly's digis she created!  For just $10, you will get all 10 digi sets, designed by Carly (when she was 12) PLUS you will get a 50% OFF coupon code, good for everything in our store!!

Remember When...

Hi,  I'm finally back with a card :)  It's been so long since I've actually made a card I couldn't believe how long it took me to create such a simple one (coloring with Copics took practice), lol.

Today I'm releasing 5 new digi sets plus a digi paper pack in my store!  We're also starting our May Progressive Challenge today, PLUS there's a "Throwback Thursday" freebie on our blog.  So lots of fun stuff happening, be sure to head on over and join in the fun :)

My card today showcases one of the new sets, "Li'l Tree House" - it comes with a variety of signage, and you get outlines plus color!

I added the girls to this digi for my card (they don't come in this Tree House set), they are "School Girl" and "Lily's Flowers."

I used the Digi Sketch Challenge sketch since I'm sponsoring them this week! The theme to go with this sketch is "SPRING TIME"   Here's the sketch to follow:
You can have a chance of winning 3 FREE Digi sets from my store if you play in their sketch challenge!  :)

And before I go, here's a pic of our new releases ...

So Proud of My Girls!

This past Saturday both my girls competed at State with their National History Day projects and they both won first place!!  That qualifies them to compete at the National level in Washington D.C. in June.  There was one other girl from our H.S. that got to compete as well and she also won first place in her division.

They could choose to present their research work in one of five ways: as a paper, an exhibit, a performance, a documentary, or a web site.  The theme this year was "Rights and Responsibilites."  Maddy (8th grade) did an exhibit on Helen Keller, (the first deaf blind person to earn a bachelor of Arts degree) adding swinging panels on her exhibit for extra room, and Carly did a 27-page research paper on the "Kennewick Man" which refers to the bones of the man found on the bank of the Columbia River in Washington state that scientists are dating 9,300 years old (before any of the Native American tribes have been dated here in America).  They started researching their topics last November and spent many, MANY hours and days after school and even a few Saturdays as the day drew closer.

There were 3 overall winners of a $500 scholarship which Carly was awarded one of them.  All the girls want to compete in Maryland which will mean lots more fundraising in the next couple of months.  Resee will get her trip paid for by her Tribe, however, with funds being cut, my girls will have to find ways to earn the $ and quick!  Any ideas??  :)

This first pic is of the 3 girls from our town (all 1st place winners!), Miss Oregon (as she has been involved in National History for the past 4 years) and their T.A.G. teacher, Ms. Courtney Lupton

Woot - a picture of Carly with her braces off *Ü*

Come on Maddy, SMILE!  :)

Two Valentine Pop Up Box Cards

Happy Valentine's Day ♥

I just have to say that I have a very creative Design Team & Guest Designers at Imagine That! Digis by Kris *Ü*  Already this week, three of my teammies have created these fantabulous Pop Up Box Cards so I just had to try it myself.  Leave it to me to wait til the very last minute to make a valentine for my daughters!!  I literally finished these up before picking them up from school today. LOL.

My oldest daughter just loves turtles and frogs, and she suggested I draw this digi, "Turtley Love You" so of course I had to print this and use for her card.  She loved it.

Even better news!!  This actually folds down flat for mailing! *Ü*
Here it is closed all up.

And for my 2nd one, I used my newest digi set, "Puppy Love
for my youngest daughter who loves our now 8 year old dog, Ginger (who I drew this digi after).  *Ü*

and here it is folded up flat

Come by our Challenge & Inspiration Blog to get your mojo on!! *Ü*
I wish you lotsa love & happiness today and always

Whoa Baby! Major Snow Day

Well it's been snowing here in Central Oregon a good part of 2 days now.... this is the most snow we've ever had at one time (that I can remember anyways).  So I thought I'd take some piccies.  We've shoveled a spot for our doggy to potty at least half a dozen times since yesterday morning.

Queen Anne's Lace

I made a card... this time a sympathy one in nature.  I was actually surprised how quickly and easily this card came together after not having made a hand-crafted one in a while.  But everything just kinda came together nicely and I'm pretty happy with it.

Today is New Release Day at my store, Imagine That! Digis by Kris
I released 9 digi sets and 4 digi paper packs.  For this release I tried my hand at some flowers.
Although I tend towards the cutesy, at times we all need to send a sympathy or praying for you kind-of-card.
Here's what I ended up with...

I used  "Queen Anne's Lace" digi set and printed the outline on kraft cardstock.  Then colored with Prisma Colored Pencils.  The sentiment is part of a pack, "Sentimental Thoughts" and comes FREE with any of our 3 flower sets this month!

Here's the whole release...

Have a great week & Happy Crafting!!

He Restores My Soul

Happy Sunday!!  Today I was getting my post ready for my New Digi Release tomorrow at my store -- 11 new releases!!-- when I started playing with my digis and felt inspired to play in Word Art Wednesday.  Haven't done that in a while.  I made this digital Calendar for my desktop using "Spring Sheep" and matching Digi Papers- available tomorrow!

Here's what's in this set...

I found a wonderful exposition on the verse I used in this set.  It's quite insightful and I enjoyed reading it.
