Just Poppin’ In to Say Hello

How cute is this li’l bear… stuck in the tree *Ü*  Sue McMahon is the artist who drew this cute image called…

I wanted to add the sentiment that came with this set but didn't have much room for it on my card front, so it will have to go inside.   I used my daughter's newest sketch at Sketches by Carly

Once Upon a Time…

...a sweet little girl made a birthday wish to be the most beautiful princess in all the land.  And guess what?  Her wish came true... The beautiful princess is YOU!

That's a new sentiment that's FREE when you purchase the new Princess for a Day set by Studio 313!  McMahon Five Designs is releasing several fun new digis by various artists, so hop on over to the M5D blog to see the new releases and some samples by the DT!!

You know as well as I that every princess needs a castle... so I found this amazing SVG castle-shaped card at and added lots of glitter to the flags and her dress.  (okay, so my proportions are a li'l out of whack... lol, kinda like Alice in Wonderland, heeheee… maybe she’s a magic princess and can fit through that tiny door??)
(Free poem with purchase!)
DD:  “mom, why did you color that frog grey and red?”
Me:  “Oh, is that a frog?!!  I thought it was a ladybug!!  LOL!!
DD:  “Umm, ya, frogs sit on mushrooms don’t they?”
Me:  “OH YA!!  DUH KRIS, no wings or antenae!!!”
Here’s a pic of our li’l family in front of the REAL pink castle at Disneyland
I DO have one more card with another new release but am going to wait until tomorrow morning to post it, so hope you’ll come back then!!  If you want a sneak peek you can always hop over to the M5D Blog and see it there!  *Ü*  Until then… have a magical Friday everyone!!

SSiC132 - Toss on Everything!

Happy Sunday morning!!  Today’s card is for our new challenge over at Stampin’ Sisters in Christ challenge where Miesje is our hostess.  She shares from Romans 8:31b-32 “If God is for us, who can be against us? 32He who did not spare his own Son, but gave him up for us all—how will he not also, along with him, graciously give us all things?”

… and her challenge for us is to create a card or project that uses everything! The opposite of CAS - toss on the embellishments and/or different papers, textures.

I made this card as a Thank You to a family who invited us out this week.  I’ve used a floral border embossing folder, lots of pearls from M5D, machine stitching, bows, buttons, a charm from Inky Impressions, a digi from Designed to Delight called Bloom, Grow, Dream, an SVG doily that I cut with my Cricut, a punched butterfly and I colored the image with Copics.  I could think of dozens of other schtuff I could’ve added to this like stickles, sponging or distressing, primas, and diecut flourishes but hey, we still want to see the image and not get too crowded right?  ;)  Anyways, I drew my inspiration for this card from one of Grace’s cards here.  Love this color combo… so fresh and Springy.

Miesje shares a wonderful devotional on our challenge blog and our sponsor this week is our own Marilynn DeGroot with some fabulous handmade flowers  (there’s a picture on the challenge blog you’ll have to go see!!!)  so I hope you’ll hop on over to read and see what the other DT sisters created this week!!

Here’s a li’l peek into the Breach Family this past week…
  dad-remodel3    cards 140    cards 113    DonkBBall-1
This week was super busy for us here.

1) The first pic is my hubby in the middle of our remodel job.  I’m so proud of him as  he’s doing most of the work himself!!  The girls and I have helped with little things along the way.  Well… NOT so little things like take out the garage door and then this week we helped him get all the sheetrock through the new window—not an easy job!!   And we have 5 sheets of it up already.  *Ü*

2) Carly had her friend (and science partner) over about 5-6 evenings these past 2 weeks to work on their catapult project for science fair.  The big competition and judging was Thursday night.  Here’s a pic of their catapult, flames and all.  They won grand champion for 7th grade on their Display Board (sorry no pic of that) and got 35 out of 100 on the catapult competition.  They would’ve gotten much higher I’m sure if the spoon didn’t break off on their 2nd try :(  So they couldn’t finish their 3 rounds.  Guess all that practicing wore my cheapy, old kitchen ladle out.

3)  Maddy had to plan, prepare and clean up after a meal for the family.  She took my recipe for meatloaves and made BBQ meatballs with it, and rice and blueberry muffins.  It all turned out really yummy!!

4)  We enjoyed a game of Donkey Basketball at the High School.  Have you ever been to one?  Not sure if we have them every year or not, but I remember they were doing it when I was in H.S. ~ It is sooo funny!  One donkey kept kicking and then she’d bend her head down making her rider fall off over her head.

5)  Not pictured… both girls sang solos for concerts at school Thurs. & Friday.  Carly was so nervous all week.  I think it all finally caught up to her because she was up with the throw-ups last night, and now running a fever today.  Poor girl.  Good thing it’s now SPRING BREAK and hoping she gets better by Monday so we can have some fun girly time.  I’m taking Mon-Tues. off work to be with my girls.  Please Say a li’l prayer for us that we’re all well enough to enjoy it!!

Hope you have a great week!

Card Drive for Leah & an Update

Hello all… I’m back with an update on 6 yr. old Leah.   Last week I posted about Leah who was in the hospital on dialysis for pneumonia and who’s kidneys were starting to fail.  Yesterday I learned that she not only had pneumonia, but a staph infection (very dangerous) and strep A as well.  Things didn’t look for there for a while.

Jerusha informed me that Leah’s doing better, however still running high fevers trying to fight all this stuff.  She’s on a ventilator and the doctors think she’ll prolly be in the hospital for no less than 4+ weeks.  We know God is the Great Physician and Healer and I know that when my great-niece was hospitalized a few short months ago that she improved much quicker than doctors thought.  Your prayers are appreciated for li’l Leah, and if you or your kids would like to send her a card, please Email me at krisb33 AT yahoo DOT com and I’ll give you her mailing address.  Thanks for asking for updates ladies.  You are the best and through our prayers and well wishes, she is sure to feel the love around the world.

For my card I used the newly released Marci with Bunny and the Stump from La-La Land Crafts along with Carly’s sketch #52.  If you use any La-La Land Crafts image, you can link up in their Customer Gallery for a chance to win stamps!!

SSiC - With Heartfelt Sympathy

Good morning… it’s almost SPRING!!  Well, the calendar will tell you that, although “mother nature” I think has other plans… at least here in Central Oregon!  We have a new challenge over at SSiC today and Marilynn is our lovely hostess.  She shares Psalm 104:19 “He made the moon to mark the seasons…”  so with the changing of seasons this week, she is challenging us to make a card/project showing something related to the new season (Spring)!!

I used my beautiful set, “Hugs & Prayers” by Nina B Designs for my card.  (Thanks again to Traci Major for gifting me this set!) I love birds and I love this color combo for Spring.  Don’t look too closely at my mistakes please.  (don’tcha just love it when I point them out?)  Well I first tried coloring with my Copics and got too dark a turquoise, so I pulled out my watercolor paper and had fun with watercolors.  After I colored the flowers and bird and cut him out, I popped up a 2nd wing for dimension.  I also popped the whole bird up.

There was a LOT of “white space” so I grabbed a lid and scribbled on it with some SU! markers and then took my water pen and added some pink and green shading around the flowers and stems.  LOL… now that I look at my embellies, that green thingy on the left side with the white “antennae” kind reminds me of a snail.  *Ü*
We have a FABULOUS sponsor this week!!  Pop on over to our Challenge Blog to see what you can win if you play along and your name is drawn!!  You have until Saturday night to enter.  Have a wonderful week.  ♥Kris

Prayers & Cards for 6 yr. old Leah

Today I write to ask you to consider sending a card to a 6 yr. old girl  named Leah.
She is one of my blogging friends’ (Jerusha) pastor's daughter who became very ill with pneumonia recently and her kidneys started failing.  She is getting dialysis treatments and is doing a bit better, but I'm sure she would love some cheering up.  We don't know how long she'll be in the hospital, so Jerusha thought sending cards that say HELLO or THINKING of YOU might be best.  She's a very girly girl... loves pink and frills etc.  Something happy that you think will make her smile would be fabulous.  I have her mailing address, so if you're interested, please email me at krisb33 AT yahoo DOT com and I'll get that to you right away, or you can contact Jerusha at her blog.

Here's a badge I made up that you may display on your blog if you’d like to help us spread the word.  Please link it to my post here or Jerusha’s  post.  Thanks!!

Whether you’re able to send a card or not, please just keep little Leah in your prayers this week… the family would sure appreciate them!!  THANK YOU ♥

{Enjoy} ... a Little Sunshine!!

Happy Tuesday bloggy peeps!!  Before I get to my card today I want to share a treasure trove I found yesterday.  It's Leanne's blog, Stampin a Little Sunshine.  Her creations are so gorgeous ... you'll want to hop over and see for yourself!  And if you like what you see, (and I know you will) why not leave her a some luv (comments ~ we all appreciate them!)  *Ü*  I especially adore her seashell card.  Anyways, after perusing her blog I was inspired to to create my card for today.  It's my take on a li'l vintage... a li'l shabby chic maybe?? Girly for sure!!  *Ü*
This birdcage is an SVG that I got for free from SheryK Designs in a Spring set.  I cut out 2 of them, but the white one I deleted all the little holes to make it a solid back.  I also cut out a chocolate bird and taped it to the back piece and then popped the top pink layer up with dimensionals.  The pearly flourish is from McMahon’s Five Designs (what I call an online superstore chalk full of elegant everythings!) … love that store—they have tons of crafting supplies from stamps & digis to papers to fancy embellies to Spellbinders and more!

SSiC - Dark vs. Light

Today’s card is for the Stampin’ Sisters in Christ challenge, which is to use opposite colors (ie. black/white, brown/ivory, pink/red etc).

I chose some variations of greens along with some fun SVG’s of some dress forms to make an elegant “girly” card.  I also embossed the white layers with the herringbone folder (hard to see that here) and added some pearls, lace and twine.
The middle dress didn’t cut so well on my cricut so I covered it up with some green tissue paper.  My dd Maddy made the skirt for me – I just glued it on and added a bow.

Miesje is our challenge hostess and has a wonderful Scripture and devotional posted on our challenge blog, so pop on over to read for yourself and see what the girls made *Ü*

I feel like I'm missing something?  Oh well... it’s late and I’ve been fighting terrible allergies this weekend (he one bad thing about this beautiful weather we’re having lately).  Hope you have a great week!

Cooking With Cricut #75 - Carnival

Hi there!  This wind does not make it fun to be outside in, so it’s a good day for crafting!  In my blog surfing, I came across the Cooking with Cricut Challenge for this week which is CARNIVAL

CircusTopcakeI only have one cricut cartridge called Create-a-Critter which had this fun Big Top, balloons, and seal with ball so I hope it’s close enough to a carnival?  Even if it doesn’t qualify, it was sure fun to make *Ü*  OH, the sentiment was a freebie at
This reminded me of a cake that I decorated for my daughter’s 2nd birthday…

I thought this would make a cute party invitation… or even through in a couple carnival tickets when the fair comes around this summer.  Aaahhh… summer!  A girl can wish right?  Thanks for dropping by!

Psalm 91:4 - Enchanted Sparrow Paperscape

Good Sunday Morning!  I get to play hostess this week’s Stampin’ Sisters in Christ challenge and our sponsor is Digi Doodle Shop.  The verse on my wall hanging is the Scripture I chose to share for my devotional; “He will cover you with His feathers and under His wings you will find refuge.”  This is a verse I learned many years ago and I just find it very comforting to know that God is always there through anything we’re going through… He’s our safe shelter from the storms of life… He covers us with His wings and is our refuge.  If you care to read more of my devo, please hop over to the SSiC blog.  We love having you all visit and share with us through comments what spoke to you this week or even if our DT inspired you!!  Swing on by  *Ü*

My challenge for you this week is “THINGS with WINGS”

For my card I made this Enchanted Sparrow Paperscape from an SVG set over at and printed the Scripture with my computer.

In case you’re interested in how I made the flowers, read on.  If not, skip on down to leave me a comment (ha) and then pop over to our challenge blog to be blessed *Ü*

I cut out 8 sets, but only used 7.  Just kinda eye it and see what looks good to you.  The stamens were cut out of shimmery white paper—some I colored the tips in yellow and some I left white.  enchanted flowers1 Then I took the rolly ball thingy that you dry emboss with (opposite end of my paper piercer) and with my flowers on the backside of a computer mouse pad, I gently rolled circles into each petal and then in the center of the flower which causes it to curl up … Neat trick huh?  (it was in the instructional video *wink*)

embosstool       flower

Then I took those comb-looking things (stamens) and rolled them around the end of my paper piercer (the tiny end) and added a dab of glue to the end.  Then either add a dab more glue or use a glue dot to the underside and plant it in the middle of the flower.  Then use your finger to spread out the wiggly thingies to look like a flower!  I tried the yellow-tipped first but it blended in too much from a distance, so I used the pure white stamens for my project.

Here’s what it looks like lying flat on the table:

Lots of fun to make!!
I am loving my cricut and learning more all the time.
Hope you’ll come play in our THINGS with WINGS challenge!!
