Lenny's Love Me Nots

What's better... eskimo kisses or dragon kisses? LOL - I don't think I'd want to actually kiss a dragon, but come on, this little dragon, Lenny is sooo cute!! And Eskimo Kisses is the name of this paper by Basic Grey! (Oh, the polka-dot paper behind the winter scene is actually from the Lemonade collection by BG.)

So, have you seen the new High Hopes stamps at KL Stampin' N Scrappin' yet?! Kelly sent me this one called Lenny's Love Me Nots. I decided that I'm going against the flow and NOT coloring him green, heehee! I decided to make this into a winter card and color him pink! I also added Dazzling Diamonds for snow... now it goes with the cute DP! Kelly also just added a bunch of Christmas High Hopes stamps as well as Basic Grey , CC. Designs , Sugar Plums ) You've GOT to go check them out! :)

And I don't think I've mentioned this yet... (shame on me!) that we have a new DT member, Deb so come on over to the KLSNS blog and see what creative inspiration the design team has been sharing all during the week!

OH... don't want to forget! Today is the last day to get in your DT submissions for the Jan-April term! You can find all the deets HERE.

Have a fun and SAFE weekend!!

I Visited La La Land... Wanna Come Too?

Hiya friends!! Today was [my BBF] Lisa's turn to host the challenge in LaLa Land, so I just had to play along! Oh my goodness, it was so much fun visiting LaLa Land today... my head is STILL spinning! Heehee! Wanna come along too? Lisa wants us to use RIBBON on our cards, in fact you can use ribbon as your inspiration for your card! You don't have to use LaLa Land Crafts stamps, but if you have em' why not show them some love?!

I actually was sent this Pumpkin LaLa stamp today--isn't she soo cute?! Her hair is exactly how my daughters like to wear theirs... especially Maddy. =) I watercolored her (of course) on wc paper with my SU! markers and an aqua pen. That's my newest favorite technique, but some of my markers are running a little dry. Time to start making my wish list I s'pose! I used today's SCS sketch challenge too! It's a little hard to see that here, and now I wish I would've backed the lovely dp with some olive green, but... stamp & learn!! That's MY motto! LOL =)

Thanks for droppin' in today! OOOH, I almost forgot to tell you!! There's a FABBY prize up for grabs to one lucky player! Oooo, maybe I shouldn't have told you that, it might decrease my chances of winning, LOL - just kidding.... Get on over there!!

Inky Challenge Wednesday

Embrace Life!
Happy Wednesday!! We have a new challenge for this week over at Inky Impressions Challenges! Part of this week's challenge was actually my suggestion (don't hate me! LOL) and it's to use NO Designer Paper... and ADD Stitching! =)

I have to admit, it's a nice change to put the dp away and use my cuttlebug again! And since it's breast cancer awareness month, I used this LiLi's Awareness Ribbon, which by the way, A portion of the proceeds will be donated to the National Breast Cancer Foundation & also The American Diabetes Association. I made this card for a special friend who is like a second mom to my girls. She is a breast cancer survivor of 9+ years. I found a poem by Suzy Toronto called, "It's Me Again... Only Better" that is about her battle with cancer and what it taught her. It's really good in case you want to Google it! =) I printed it for the inside of my card.

I added crystal effects to the ribbon to give it some 3D and make it stand out. Here's a close up:HOP on over to the challenge blog to see what the rest of our Design Team made and play along!

Introducing a New Line of Stamps!

Sweet 'n Sassy is celebrating it's 2nd birthday next month with a brand new line of stamps called the Sunbeams! The Sunbeams were named after the song, "Jesus Wants Me for a Sunbeam" and are designed by Korin Sutherland herself! It is Korin's hope that these little children will remind you of the precious sunbeams in YOUR life! This first collection is of course a birthday theme, in celebration of SNSS' 2nd b-day. Then every few months a new theme will be released. This is a set of 4 characters and YOU have a chance to win them all for FREE! Just go HERE to read all about it and see what you have to do to be eligible.

Mardi Gras Card & Ornament

Mabye I should've added a warning to this post... "May Need Sunglasses to View this Card!" LOL! Good Monday morning stampers!! As you can see I've been a busy bee... not only crafting an OVER-THE-TOP card, but this lovely mardi gras beaded ornament as well. It's actually been a few weeks since I made this and the recipient has already received it! I've posted several of my collector ornaments on my blog before, so if you'd like to see them, click HERE. I've been making them for the past several years for my mom and MIL for Christmases and birthdays, and this year I ordered a few extra kits to make and send to a few friends. This one was well recieved by my friend (& boss) Nicole. She had commented to me once about how gorgeous my ornaments were, and when I saw this new orament kit it made me think of her--it's called "Mardi Gras" and has some of her favorite colors in it and I just thought she would love this. She IMed me that day and told me she was in tears earlier that day because "someone" had done something so special for her. Awwww, that made my day. I'm so glad you like it Nicole.

OK, on to the card: The name for this one inspired me to make a matching card, which was possibly THE FUNNEST (? is that a word?) CARD I've ever made thus far. I found a picture of a mardi gras mask online to print and then I pop dotted it over Angelica's face. Then I added lots of glitter, curly ribbons and fun yarn. For the background I tried a technique that my DT sister Jessica showed us on the KLSNS blog a couple weeks ago. You run a piece of white c.s. through the cuttlebug and then take a crayon (purple in this case) and run over the embossed parts. Then you sponge on the contrasting color to fill in the rest of the space. In this case, I cheated and brayered the green galore onto the cb folder and run my c.s. back through! I also gave Angelica some fish net stockings by drawing them on with a black marker. Added gold ricrac and gems. Talk about BLING! This is the blingiest card I've ever made as well =)
and here's a better picture of the ornament that I "stole" off Nicole's blog since it came out so much better than the one I took! ;)

Before I go, I want to let you know that Inky Impressions is having a GUESSING GAME contest to guess the name of the new Inky Mama character making it's stamp debut with this new winter release! You can WIN the new character stamp free along with a package of new embellies and things!

SSCC #10 - I Chronicles 16:34

Good Morning!! Another Sunday...another wonderful challenge over at Stampin' Sisters in Christ Challenges! I made a couple of cards this week for Pastor Appreciation month, and I'm happy to share one of them for this week's SSC Challenge.

Laurie Gatton is our host this week, and the scripture she shared is I Chronicles 16:34 “Give thanks to the Lord, for he is good; his love endures forever.” Being the songleader that I am, this song popped right into my head and I'm even singing it now. It's an awesome song by Chris Tomlin, and taken right from scripture which I believe every bit of is "God-breathed, or God-inspired" - I am sooo thankful that God loves me and wants what is good for every one of his children.

The challenge for this week is to make a card that expresses your thankfulness for someone or something they have done... OR to make a card that encourages someone to be thankful. What a wonderful thing to do! There are so many people that I need to make thank you's for, but I'm sharing one I made for my pastor & boss, to thank him for being a servant of God as a pastor, and to thank him for being a wonderful boss. Isn't October boss' day too? Hmmm, I think I missed that one, so I hope this makes up for it, LOL.

Isn't this image of Jesus amazing?! I love the soft expression in his face and the slight tilt of his head... and then to stamp it up and see all the detail, LOVE IT! This set, "Jesus" is made by one of our SSCC sponsors, Our Daily Bread Designs. To make the frame, I used Label 2 Nestabilities to cut out this real Maple Wood paper from McMahon Five Designs (another one of our lovely sponsors!). I am loving this wood and it's so reasonable priced. I also bought these beautiful coffee pearls there too! Here's what I did with the inside of card.

Our sponsor this week is The Rubber Stamp Shack, so come on over to the SSCC Blog and see what fabulous stamps they are donating AND see all the wonderful cards by our Design Team! We'd love to have everyone play along! It's not required to use scripture on your projects, but you may if you want. We accept ALL styles of cards from Cutesy to vintage, grundge to elegant ... COME PLAY WITH US!! =)

Stamps: "Jesus" - Our Daily Bread Designs; sentiment I printed onto DP with computer
Paper: K & Company, ""; watercolor paper - ProArt, 140 lb.; Walnut wood paper, - McMahon Five Designs
Embellishments: Coffee Pearls - McMahon Five Designs; Nestabilities, Labels 2; Moroccan border punch - EK Success

It's a Slumber Party!

Hi y'all! My oldest daughter is turning 11 next weekend and asked to have a slumber party, so I thought this little Inky Impressions girl would be perfect for the invites! Although my hubby told me he thought maybe they'd be too young for a 5th grader... ya know what? Her face LIT UP when I showed her the stamp that came in the mail! She was sooo excited about this that she asked to stamp them up right away and she and her younger sister got right to work coloring 5 of these yesterday! LOL - I honestly wish I could have video taped her excitement. For those of you who know Carly, when she gets excited, she does this thing where she presses her hands to her face (usually her mouth) and shakes while making a humming noise! Well she kept stopping like every 20 seconds to do this little habit of hers. It was hilarious! Then she was humming a Christmas song the rest of the night! LOL! Nicole, if you're reading this, I'm sure you'll feel so proud that a little stamp of yours could make my daughter so happy!! lol =)

*sigh* too much! OK, well thanks for stopping by today! I've got an announcement coming up later tonight, so I hope you'll check back in later! :) Have a wonderful Thursday!!

A {Vintage} Pearl-escent Card

Ok, to be honest... I have NO CLUE what constitutes "Vintage" LOL - that's never been my style and every time I attempt it, it really doesn't look vintage at all. BUT, I really like how this turned out (vintage or not)!

Today is Inky Challenge Wednesday and we have a sketch for you to try... but, you'd better hop over to the challenge blog to see the sketch because I didn't exactly follow it to a "T" =)

I was going for that soft look... you know, that "barely colored" look with the brown tones to really give it a vintagey feel, but like I already said, that didn't turn out! I kept adding more and more color... and then! OH, the glitter pens jumped off the counter and worked themselves into my image as well!! Couldn't believe my eyes!! Well, a couple things I do know I got right... Nikki knows how to apply her eyeshadow this time, she must've gotten some practice since my last card! LOL And the other thing I think I did right is adding these beautiful coffe pearls up the side! LOVE THEM!!

Great news! Inky Impressions is gearing up for another FUN BLOG HOP!! This time we'll be showing some majorly cute winter stamps AND some fun new embellishments ... oh, I'm so excited--they are super duper cute! Stay tuned for that coming up soon!
Thanks for stopping by today! Hope I've inspired you to "Ink Something!"

Another Sweet R.A.K.!!

I received yet a 2nd R.A.K. (Random Act of Kindness) this week, and this one came from my good friend Helen Phelps!! THANK YOU SO MUCH Helen!! Helen is one of the sweetest people I know. In case you didn't read from my blog already, she and I go way back--to our college years! We lived in the same dorm for 2 years at the Christian college we attended in Kansas. We had such fun times in those days and I'm sure you'd prolly find some funny photos floating around Facebook of our college days! LOL - remember those silly "Pitt" Pics?! =) Oh, sorry... got a little caught up in the flashbacks there for a sec.! LOL But anyway, we just happened to find each other again on FB this last year - and discovered that we both LOVE STAMPING! Helen is also my DT sister over at Stampin' Sisters in Christ Challenges... so we have been enjoying each other's friendship once again in a whole new way... and we send each other stamped images and cards every now and then, like these! They are beautiful Helen, and I don't happen to have any of them yet! These are 2 of my favorite companies stamps too!! Thank you sweetie! =) I treasure our friendship so much!!

A Sweet R.A.K. {Random Act of Kindness}

I have such a sweet friend named Lisa Hjulberg, (aka. my BBFF, SSiC, super fun & uber talented, DT sistah, & Copic specialist) who blessed me with this beautiful card and even some stamps!! WOWZERS Lisa!! :) Thank you so much!! The stamp she used on this card is Candy Cane LaLa, and she sent me the Window LaLa that I won in a blog hop on her blog for LaLa Land Crafts! Not only that, but she sent me a sweet baking Tilda Magnolia stamp as well =) I will definately give these girls some love very soon! Well, I don't wanna get too mushy on here in front of everyone...but you know how I feel about ya girl! :)

Come back tomorrow to see what I created for our Inky Wednesday Challenge! (Give ya a hint... I tried a style I don't think I've tried before... and I like it! LOL)

SSCC#9 - A Savior Has Been Born...

We've posted a new challenge today at Stampin' Sisters in Christ Challenges and we'd love to have you join in & play along with us! Lisa Hjulberg is our host this week and the scripture she chose is Luke 2:11: "Today in the town of David a Savior has been born to you; he is Christ the Lord. "

Lisa would like us to make a card or project featuring the nativity or other images/verses that relate to Christ's birth! Our sponsor is Taylored Expressions, who is donating a beautiful Christmas stamp set which will go to one random player... thank you Taylor!! :)

I knew exactly what stamp set I was going to use when I saw the challenge: The Nativity, (limited special edition) from Paper Pretties! Then I thought of using some of my new wood from McMahon Five Designs to create a barn in the form of a Diarama Card! This not only makes a wonderful Christmas decoration, it can also be folded and mailed in an envelope!

I used real wood (Teak wood) for the inside back of the barn and Hickory strips for the front sides and roof. I haven't made many tutorials but I took several pics along the way to show how I put this together. If you have any questions, I'll be happy to answer them! :)

Thanks for looking! I hope I've inspired you to "INK SOMETHING" today! Come see what our Design Team has made this week & play along!! Doesn't have to be anything complicated... we love to see very clean & simple cards too--come show us what you've made!!

Simon Says... Christmas Tilda!

...well okay, Simon didn't really say make a Christmas Tilda, heehee... but he DID say follow this sketch! And I'm pretty sure Simon's telling me to retake this photo in daylight, cause it's hard to see that the red layer is cuttlebugged also with the Swiss Dots folder and the snow and snowflakes are covered in Dazzling Diamonds! Very sparkly and pretty IRL. Don't worry Simon... I'll upload a better one soon! LOL

For this card I used my favorite stamp of all time from KL Stampin' N Scrappin' store, Tilda with Lamb. She was from the Easter Magnolia collection, but she's so versatile, like this baptism card I made for Kelly! But I have to say, I'm really loving her in these Christmas colors. I'm anxiously awaiting my new Basic Grey paper called Eskimo Kisses too! Have you seen it yet? Sooo pretty! Kelly also got in some great Basic Grey stamp sets and other papers too, like Indian Summer and Nook and Pantry (goes perfect with the new Little Yummy for Your Tummy stamps!) And just a couple things to remember, if you like stamps like Basic Grey, Magnolia, High Hopes, CC Designs, Stampavie, and BG papers and Provocraft folders etc., then I have GREAT NEWS for you!! KLSNS is having a DT Call going on the rest of this month! The term will be from Jan-April 2010. You can read all about it in my previous post HERE. Also, if you find some goodies in store that you want now, you can use OCTSHP when checking out to get FREE Priority Flat Rate shipping!!

Come on over to the KLSNS Blog to see all the super cute creations by the Design Team this week! REALLY good stuff! We're even having an October Challenge--to use Fall colors! Come on over and check it out! :)

A {Scooter} Picture Card & Sneaks

So, have any of you gotten your hands on these cute Inky Impressions stamps yet? If so, come play along in our challenge this week!! :) And if not, you can still hop on over to the challenge blog and see all the inspiration by some of our Design Members this week!

Our challenge was a "recipe" challenge, which means we had to follow this recipe:
  • 1 stamped image
  • 1 sentiment
  • 2 ribbons
  • 3 embellies
  • 3 layers

I've been wanting to make a scrapbook page with this Spunky Scooter LiLi ever since I got her in the mail. My daughter got a skateboard for her birthday and we spent numerous days this summer at the school and park with it and her bike and skates too. However, the recipe challenge was throwing me off a little bit and I just couldn't make it work for a big 12x12 page that would fit our albums, so I made this picture card instead. M is sooo not the typical "girly-girl", more of a tom-boy, and has always liked primary colors as opposed to pinks and purples, so this card totally fits her and would be great for sending to a friend or cousin :)

And now are you ready for some SUPER CUTE sneak peeks?? Our DT will be having a blog hop very soon to show you these fun new winter stamps + more!

Thanks for stopping by today!! Hope you have a wonderful (INKY) Wednesday!!
