Olivias 2,4,6,8 Teacher Box

This little cutie was the TLC challenge on SCS last Monday, which was to create this little acetate gift box! This was soo much fun to make. I just received my Olivia stamp set and tried her out for this "teacher" gift. The candy worked perfectly too, because the dp has apples and cherries all over it, and I found little boxes of Appleheads® and Cherryheads®--yum! I think one of my daughter's will have a male teacher this year, so I'll have to start thinking how I can make this into a manly box--I'm so not good with "boy stuff"....but it'll be fun trying! Thanks for looking!

This is so cute! Love the Olivia stamp! I checked out your cakes too. Loved them. I've made many cakes with the wilton cake pans. They take some time to make, but they are so cute when your done:)

Oh, goodness...this is adorable! My suggestion on the male teacher (we had one two years ago) find out his interests and go with it. Kyler's teacher loved salmon and fly fishing so I went with those themes the whole year. Good luck!

Hi Krisitine, This is one cute box! Your daughter's teacher will love it!! As for the masculine dilemma, I try to use DP that have stripes or geometric patterns (no dots, swirls, or flowers for the guys unless they really have a masculine look to them) or I use solids and stick to elements that are very basic like a simple tag with an image of something they like - fishing, sports, etc. (no scallops for guys). Ribbon, but no bows. Nothing too cute for any male beyond 2nd grade. I say this because I teach 2nd grade. At the beginning of the year, 2nd grade boys still like "cute". By the end of the year they are "too big" for cute and actually have a pretty strong resistance to it...they are practically "men" now, afterall. Plus, cute is for girls! lol Since I have two adult sons, I've been making "male" cards for them and their friends for at least 26 years. I always ask for my sons' opinions so I can get a feeling of what guys like. We can learn a lot when we ask...sometimes more than we want to learn! I hope you don't mind me sharing what I do for the masculine card dilemma and I do hope you find it helpful. Take care and thanks for your sweet comments on my blog! :)

Kristine: I love this, it so adorable. The stamp is too cute and your project outstanding. What a lovely gift.
For a male, how about stuffing some jube jube candies or those licorice candies from the UK? I sent you some pirates so maybe they can help arrrggghhhh LOL>>>>with a male theme?

hugs,
Bela
