Tri-Fold in Mauve

I just loved making these cute little tri-fold cards, that I decided to try a different color. I actually thought I pulled out lavendar lace, when I became very puzzled--I didn't realize I still had Mauve Mist in my c.s. file case, but it sure looks like it! :o) Anyway, these are for 2 very special blogger friends, and I WISH I had time and c.s. to make them for every one of you that visits and reads my blog so frequently. I am getting to know some of you much better and I thank you for honoring me with your presence and comments. You are all wonderful and if you're reading this and I don't have your link in my blog roll, PLEASE leave me a comment and I'll get you added. If you don't have a blog, you can share your SCS gallery with me too and I'd love to take a lookey and post it under "galleries". THANKS! And you all have a very BLESSED EASTER next Sunday!!

Stamps: Tags & More; Fresh Fillers / Cardstock: Mauve Mist; Basic Black; Whisper White / Accessories: Mega Giga Scallop Circle Punch; CM circle cutters; Signo white gel pen; black & white polka-dot ribbon; slit punch, 1/8" hole punch; dimensionals; sponges; markers; temp. mono for masking

More Paisley Butterflies

Look out bloggers! Some of you will be the lucky recipients of these Easter cards. I had such a good response on SCS when I posted my chocolate paisley butterflies that I sat down and made some Springy-colored ones. Hope you enjoy them as much as I did making them! :o)

My Daughters' Punchy Animals

Since I posted "Carly's Cat", my 6 yr. old begged me to help her make a large animal and she LOVED that mouse card that {allee's} did for the WT106 challenge, so we pretty much CASEd the babies from her card. Maddy literally SQUEELED "awe...so cute!" when she saw it, so that's the first thing we did this morning...and you know kids!!--she was NOT going to let me forget to help her today!! :o)

And Carly added a couple baby kittens to her momma in this bottom picture. She did all the punching and sponging etc. herself. I think I have a couple of great future stampers on my hands. Maybe they'll be demos and then I can get a discount!? Lol!! (please leave a comment--it will make their day!)

I WON!! *Happy Dance*

Too Happy 1 (the *happy dance* today when I opened my mail!)

WooHoo!! I'm the proud recipient of this amazing 3-coaster picture frame!! I entered a contest over at Teresa's blog: Inkfully Yours and I was one of the few picked for some of her yummy blog candy. This came as such a shock because with it being Spring Break this week, I have not been as faithful about browsing my blogging friends "stuff" and she had posted the winners days ago!! I fell in love with this gorgeous paper and the cute paisleys she made with this, so I'm a very happy camper right now...a HUGE THANKS to Teresa--you ROCK!!

Happy Spring RAK

I have to apologize, I recieved this beautiful RAK from Laurie Rybarczyk some time ago, but my desk was sooo piled you couldn't see the top of my desk and it got stuck under some stuff right away. Luckily, I cleaned my craft room yesterday (dusted and everything!) and found it!! :o) YEAH! This picture doesn't do this card justice. The butterfly is stamped on vellum c.s. with some kind of amethyst metallic ink and the one on envelope is also shiny metallic as well. Very pretty. Go check out Laurie's blog : I Lie, Cheat, and CASE! Thanks so much Laurie!!
*NOTE: I'm usually not so messy in my craft room, and I do TRY to upload and link my RAK's as soon as I get them, so please don't let this stop you from mailing to me!! Lol!!
-------------------------------------------------
EDITED: Laurie was so kind to email me and let me know what she used for this butterfly! It's called Tsukineko Brilliance ink in Pearlescent Purple. She colored the back of the vellum with barely banana and orchid opulence markers. SOOO Pretty Laurie!!

Carly's Cat

Today's WT106 challenge was a huge hit with my girls...in fact, I didn't get anything done for ME, cause they went ga ga over the C*U*T*E cards made with all the punches. This is my older daughters card...well, she said it's a postcard since it won't fit in an envelope. I think this turned out really cute! We used gold wire for the whiskers, and she made the eyes and ears and face etc. all by herself, 8 yrs. old. Oh, and the tail is seperate and has dimensional pop dots for the 3-D effect. Thanks for looking! :0) -- Survivor's on soon, so I won't get one done today. Stay tuned though...I have an idea!!

A PUNCHY C.A.S.E.

If you saw the WT challenge for today (Thursday), then you've seen this adorable bunny...or one just like it. I didn't get an original card done at all today because as soon as my 6 yr. old saw this card in today's gallery, she just HAD to make it!! :0) So, I was a good mommy and helped both the girls make Easter cards today. Maybe I'll come up with my own idea later tonight or tomorrow. The proportions of this prolly needs adjusting still, but for the kids, you can't be a perfectionist, ya know?!! OK...Does she looks anything like OUR bunnies??

I think our card is a little "girlie" don't ya think??!! Lol!

Cardstock: Gable Green; Lavendar Lace; Kraft; Whisper White / Accessories: black brads, white glitter brad; primas; flower punch; both SU! oval punches; CM's circle cutters; 1/4" hole punch; scissors; sponges; markers; cotton ball; ribbon; white gel pen

Spring Break - Mini Vaca

Oh my goodness!! I came across this stamper's website tonight and I just HAVE to share it with you. This link is her "About Me" page, and it does play some beautifully serene music. I encourage you to read that page and then before checking out the other pages (which is a MUST) you need to click at the very bottom of the page on "Click here to Meet My STAFF". Just do it...you'll see why!! :o) Ok, now post your comment here!!!
--------------------------------------------
It's SPRING BREAK!! and I've survived so far *holding my breath & crossing my fingers* :o) HA! Well, our plans got a little mixed up, but it turned out to be a fun mini-vaca. Last weekend, I was suppose to take my girls up to my sisters in the next state for a few days, but that didn't happen--long story, so I'll spare you. SO...after I got off work Monday, around 12:30 p.m., we packed our bags and loaded up and drove all the way to ...well, a town only ONE HOUR AWAY!! :0) This is the second time in a year we've done this, but last time it was a place only 40 minutes away! SO, we stayed in a hotel that had an indoor pool so the girls could swim...that is just the best thing to them! (they are 6 & 8 yrs old) But first, we went to the Fun Center and rode the Go-Karts!! That was a blast!! Then we took them to Denny's for dinner as we had their Birthday coupons for free meals and desserts that I've had in my purse for almost a year!! It's about time they get them for this year!! Anyway, we went back to the hotel and rested for 1 hour--like good boys and girls should ;o) and then we all went swimming. The next day, we went back to the Fun Center right when it opened and we were practically the only ones there! it was sooo cool because there were tickets hanging out of most of the machines!! WOO HOO!! We stayed for about 1 1/2 or 2 hours there...until the quarters ran out. Then we went out for lunch and came home. We all had so much fun, and all for about $100.
Some of you might remember pics of our bunnies I posted on the old blog? Well, those bunnies fight like crazy if we let them near each other, so my hubby and girls worked on a new hutch for one of them today. It's been so cold here it's hard to do much of anything outside...29 degrees, no snow to play in...brrr!! Tomorrow, we might go bowling, which I really enjoy, but I'm actually kinda ready for our "normal routine" if you KWIM!! Well, it's late, sorry so long...I just felt like blogging. Nobody's even probably reading this at this point anyway, so ciao for now!!

Inspired Polka-Dot Frame

If you haven't seen Terry's (TERRORE3) CUTE card, you've got to click this link!! I just thought it was so fabulous, so I used the same basic idea, but I changed up the flowers a bit, and the colors, and of course I omitted the saying and used my own. I also decided to make a "frame" or cut-out window that goes all the way through to the inside of the card. This was just a little more challenging than I thought, but my nifty CM cutters came in handy for this!
------------------------------------
(WARNING: this post is long, as I attempt to describe in detail my instructions for this. If you don't care to make one, please just scroll past it, lol!! REALLY! :0)
------------------------------------
As you can see from the picture below, I cut out large square pieces from the black and green layers since they won't show anyhow, and it cuts back on the bulk too (postman will like that!) Let me see if I can go back in my mind to explain how I did this, LOL!! I came across this idea by a mistake I made. Well, if you can call it that?! I wanted to stamp the round saying stamp, cut it out in a circle and then layer it onto my GIGA Scallop circle punched piece, but there was way too much room around the saying and the scallops. SO...I cut a circle a little larger than the saying out of coral, and then took my piece of c.s. that had a hole in it, and used scalloped scissors and went around the outside to make a little "frame". If you don't know how Creative Memories Cutters work, there are 3 sizes of blades with each circle template (and actually there's an inner track and an outer track, so you can get 6 sizes with one template!) So then I centered (or tried! lol) the template circle on my white stamped rectangle piece and cut a slightly larger circle than my coral scallop piece. ARE YOU WITH ME??? Then, I taped my coral piece over the hole in my white piece. THEN, I layered my stamped piece on a black sheet of c.s. and trimmed the black slightly larger than the white. Did the same thing with the green. Then, I cut out a large rectangle out of the middle of bl. and grn. layers -- mainly this was so I didn't have to be exact with the circle cutting, and also, I'm running out of Celery c.s. and it saves paper! Then before I taped the black and green layers, I centered my white stamped piece on top of my Apricot card and held it there while I hovered my circle template over my white c.s. where I cut the circle out. Then I layed and held the template on my apricot c.s. while gently removing the stamped white piece from under it, trying not to move my cutting template. Then I used the same size blade to cut my circle out of the apricot layer. Next, I taped a piece of white c.s. to the inside of the card, and then I cut a same size circle as front stamped piece out of plain thin typing paper and layed the piece with a hole in it over the front of my apricot front and then stamped my circle stamp through to the inside white piece. Last of all, just taped all my layers onto the card front and Ta-da!! OK...that was a looooong description...so sorry!

Need A Laugh Today?

I came across this post today, and got quite a chuckle! It kinda parallels to the reason I watch "Nanny 911" or "Super Nanny", which is to make me feel thankful and relieved that we are normal (in the midst of me feeling driven to insanity by my children!) Anyway, if you need a laugh, check this out: The Broom and I
................................................................................
Are you up for a BLOGGER'S CHALLENGE today? Then go check out this post: Blogger's Challenge #1 (unfortunately I don't own this set yet, so I'll have to wait until the next challenge, but it sounds so fun and I'm excited to see what everyone posts!!)
.................................................................................
Here's a blog I came across today of Irene's (Shani's mom)...she has a super cute little girl, and Irene works full time at the hospital--now that's dedication and takes such a caring person. She does a lot of scrapbooking and even links to a gallery full of pages she's done. She was gracious to add me to her blogroll, so I'm returning the favor. Drop by and say "hi"!
................................................................................
ALSO: Some of you already know that another passion of mine is cake decorating, and you may have even seen my cakes on my old blog. However, when I updated this one, I removed them from here (as this is a stamping diary) and I've just completed a new CAKE blog! You can see the link to the right under the "welcome". Here's the link as well: Kris Marie's Party Cakes in case you're interested. Hopefully I'll have a card to post tomorrow :0)

I'm Cuttle*buggied* Out!

Ok...here's what my two little munchkins and I did last Saturday, between doing laundry and cleaning house! I cut a bunch of 1/4 sheets of c.s. AND trimmed them down to layer onto a card front, and the girls had fun running them through my Cuttlebug machine. I currently have 7 different embossing folders, but I didn't do all 7 in all the colors...just what made sense to do. I still need to do some white and vanilla, but the GREAT thing about this, is that it makes doing cards so much quicker!! But WHAT do I store them in?? :0) That's easy...I decorated one of those lunch tins (I got mine from Oriental Trading Co. for $4.95 +sh--because they are so much more deeper than the others found elsewhere, and I can get a lot more into it. --You can see my tins in the "Non-Card Delights" label to the right) Anyways, I just wanted to show you...but now I'm in dire need of new cutting blades, Lol!! Guess I'll have to order those with my March order from SU! They have a really GREAT promo this month, in case you haven't heard. But I'm not a demo, so can't help ya there, :0) Please see my "Other Links" called "SU! Online Catalogs", or "Find a demo in your area" to the right if you're interested in seeing what they've got! (*NOTE: Joann's usually carries the Cuttlebug machine and you can find great deals like 40% off every so often...go check it out! )

Summertime Friends

I actually got time this afternoon to do today's sketch challenge...yeah! (I know, I know! I went a little overboard on the coral shading on his feet...guess I should've titled this card "hot foot Hedgie... Lol!!) {View Sketch Challenge #116 here}
Don'tcha just love patterned paper? It does so much for a card with very little effort, not to mention the Cuttlebug!! Oh, I really should show you how much cardstock I got cuttlebugged last weekend! :0) Anyway, you'll find a list below of my supplies. TFL!

Monday's Challenge: Rich Butterflies

Today's card challenge on SCS was to use shades of brown and vanilla--no other colors, and here's the catch...you can't make a coffee or chocolate themed card!! I decided to challenge myself even further by using a set that I normally would not attempt to use with these colors(the easy way would've been to use my puppy dog stamp!) and this is what I came up with.

(*Note: If you've already looked through the gallery for this challenge, then I want to stress that I did not CHEAT!! LOL!! I read the directions and made my card without searching all the other cards. When I uploaded, I browsed the others and was very surprised to see so many butterfly cards for this challenge!! Out of all the stamp sets SU! and other companies offer, it's shocking to see how many others read my mind!! hehehe.)

STAMPS: Bold Butterfly; Happy Harmony; Paisley BG
CARDSTOCK: Very Vanilla, Chocolate Chip
ACCESSORIES: brown/white gingham ribbon; Cuttlebug Folders: "Divine Swirls", "Textile"; rectangle punch; oval punches; brayer (to ink up bg stamp); mini pop dots; sponge

Butterfly Beauty #1

These pictures of my girls were taken at Walmart a few years ago. They had these butterfly wings and "halo"s and they made such cute butterflies! My scanner is only 8x10" so I couldn't scan them, but I took pictures with my digital and so you can't see that the background is stamped with the "Daisies and Swirls" background stamp (? can't remember the exact name of it). I also stamped their name and then added descriptive words to either side; however it made sense. Some words describing Carly include: conservative, creative, cute, artsy, always ready to shop!, good listener, likeable, lovable, busy, silly, young lady.

Butterfly Beauty #2

And here's Maddy...some of her descriptive words include: mischievous, mommy's girl, angel in disguise! (lol), funny, cuddly, delightful, dramatic, darling, you just have to love her!

*Berry* Cute

A funny story goes with this picture! I made my other daughter her first Easter dress out of this red/white checkered material that had teddybears picnic on it and this "hat" was actually her little purse! But when it got handed down to my youngest, she put the purse on her head and used it as a hat...she LOVED that "hat" and wore it a lot! It was sooo funny, but when I told her it's a purse, she just shook her head and said, "No...hat!" LOL! :0)

Enchanted Forest

HERE WE COME!! :0) This was such a fun vacation and not very far from where we live (about 3 hrs). Ya know, it's kinda sad, but I'm always the one taking the pictures and hardly ever end up IN them!! I guess I feel kinda vain to tell my hubby, "here, take a picture of ME now!" lol!! But I need to do that more often so the girls can have photos of me too for their albums. Here's a couple more pics of my 2 page layouts of this vacation:

S-I-S-T-E-R-S

I just love the look of black and white photos for scrapbooking, but because they are more expensive, I don't use them too much. I wish I would've gotten more of them when the girls were babies. Anyway, this page uses the retired set "Fruit Medley". This is just one of the 2-page layout.

At the COVE!

This page uses the set called "Summer Fun". I'm sure most of these older pages that I'm just now uploading all use retired SU! sets.

Gramma's Garden

I used "Fanciful Flowers" set for this page.

Maddy Turned 3!

In case you're wondering, she's 6 now, lol! I'm just uploading some scrapbook pages I made a while ago. Better late than never, huh? I used the Set, "Perfect Party" for these pages.

Summer Fun *Kit*

Saturdays are "Scrapbookin'Days" on SCS, or if you prefer the Inspiration Challenge, but I decided since I'm stuck at home today, that I would upload all those stamped scrapbook pages that I've had hidden in a file and never uploaded! ;0)

This was a kit put together by my local scrapbooking store, Raining Fresh Daisiesfor a contest entry. No, mine didn't win :( You had to use something of everything they gave us in the kit and we could manipulate it any way we wanted. The winner actually took the yellow paper and cut a huge sun out of it and put it on the pink pages and each ray of the sun had descriptive words about summer written on them. Neat! (sorry I don't have a picture to show ya!) I used my stamp set called (oh, darn...it's not coming to me!) If you know the name of this flower set, please leave me a comment or email me so I can post it! I'm too lazy right now to look it up...come on now--I've got a lot to upload today! lol!!

Happy Birthday *Ellie*

Here's another card made with the "Wild About You" images that I got through WISH RAK. (go sign up if you haven't yet! You get 3 free wishes and then you earn more as you grant them to others...it's a wonderful way to be able to make just a few cards with sets you don't have!)

ANYWAY...I cut this one lengthwise at 4.25" and then scored at 5.5", then scored just the top at 3/4" from the middle score. Then I punched holes within that margin and tied ribbons. (new thing I saw on SCS.) I rounded the corners with CM's corner rounder, and once again ran my c.s. through the cuttlebug with the bloom dots folder. The embossed white "happy birthday" was an afterthought, and the stamping on top of the bloom dots was a challenge. It left a bunch of spaces, so after I used the heat gun and allowed it to cool, I filled in the gaps with my white gel pen and it worked fine. The big glitter white brads are from Oriental Trading.

For the balloons, I "kissed" them with the Paisley background stamp in grey and positively pink. Then I added crystal effects to make them shiny and put them on with pop dots. Would be even cuter with a tiny wiggly eye, but still can't find them, grrh! :0) Thanks for looking!

My First ATC Swap!

I've never even made an ATC (Artist Trading Card) before now, and I signed up for 3 spots! But, it's a small swap, only 6 total of each image, so I can handle that. Anyway, it's not even closed yet, so if you want to get in on it, head on over to "YOUR INNER ANIMAL" ATC SWAP at SCS and sign up!! (Rules are to make any animal, 2 layers of c.s. (min) any company, and at least 1 embellishment). You can click on them for a larger view. Here are my 3:

If you are in this swap, or thinking about signing up, please do not link to this post...Thank You!

I used Crystal Effects on the nose of the puppy (cause we all know dogs have wet noses!) and I used a crystal rhinestone for his collar. The background on the puppy and frog cards are dry embossed with the "bubbles" Cuttlebug folder. I also used Crystal Effects on the froggy's lillypad to make it look wet. The punched frog was done using SU!'s oval punches and CM's circle cutters. (*note: I am not the originator of that ingenious frog idea...but have seen it done so many times on SCS that I don't know who created it!) The Hedgehog stamp is (c) Penny Black, and the puppy is (c) Whipper Snapper Designs.

New Arrangement

Just a quick note to let you know that I spent some time yesterday re-organizing the labels in the "categories" list (which is now called "MY CARDS"). This will help me tremendously when I go to look up a card that I've done, and maybe it will help you as well? If it's a Stampin' Up! set, it will be listed by the name of the set. If it's by another company, it will be under the name of that company. This will be much easier to find rather than by the silly titles I sometime give each card/post. Hope you are having a super Monday today!!

Wild About You

This was an image I requested through the WISH RAK group. I thought this little guy was screaming for the "Bubbles" Cuttlebug Embossing Folder because it kinda looks like scales. I really wish I could find my assortment of wiggly eyes, but my girls have them stashed somewhere...they would really make him pop don't ya think?!
Anyway, the large navy layer is dry embossed with the Happy Birthday folder (hard to see here, I know). The inner navy piece is a "frame"...I cut the ouside to 3"x 2" and then measured inside cuts 3/4" in on all sides . Then I layered it on top of the croc layer and again on old olive. Ran twine around frame. I used the word window punch to cut out "wild about you". I will put a big happy birthday saying inside the card. I think the outside has enough already. ;0) Thanks for lookin.

The *Sassy Girls* Club

This was a fun card to make. I love these girls with their style and attitude, however, when I sat down to make an RAK for someone I didn't know, I thought that the verses that came with the set were a little too *sassy* (ie. put on your big girl panties and just deal with it! or Do I look like I care? :) hehe--reminds me of my sister and I when we were younger!

So, I got out my Karen Foster Snap Stamps and made up my own saying! It says, "Did I, like, miss your birthday?"I stamped it in Stazon on vellum because it didn't fit on this card.

These girls are individual stamps in a set from MissyB Designs.com. I decided to paper piece their skirts and pants to blend in with the card background, and I'm very pleased with the outcome. To do that, I just stamped off onto designer paper and cut out just the skirt or pants and taped it onto the card. On the right side, I punched the slit punch 4 xs and then punched a hole in each and tied ribbon around side of card and thru holes. Here's the card open...

The front part tucks under all 4 tabs.

Blogger RAK from Allison!

I got this thank you card in the mail today from Allison Fillo
Thanks back at ya, Allison!!

My First *Blogger RAK*

I'm soooo happy that I got my first Blogger RAK today!! This came from Lorie Ames and you can visit her stamping adventures at her blog here {Live-Love-Laugh-Create}.

Now that I see these "Bellas" up close and personal ;0), I LOVE them and I see why they are becoming sooo popular!! You can't see it, but there is glitter (stickles I think?) on the glass, belt and shoes! Isn't she adorable??
THANKS SO MUCH LORIE!!

(Please note: I'm not discounting the cards I've received from other bloggers before I signed up for this group...I sooo appreciate those as well, but this is my 1st since signing up for the blogger RAK group.)

Q & A on Pregnancy

You will get a kick out of these!! I came across this at work, so I copied it and taped it inside the card (below) for a friend who's prego. There's no copyright on it (far as I know!) so feel free to copy and use it! :)

JUST FOR FUN: Q & A on Pregnancy

Q. Should I have a baby after 35?
A. No, 35 children is enough.

Q. I'm 2 months pregnant now. when will my baby move?
A. With any luck, right after college.

Q. Is there any reason I have to be in the delivery room while my wife is in labor?
A. Not unless the word "alimony"means anything to you.

Q. What is the most reliable method to determine the baby's sex?
A. Childbirth.

Q. My wife is five months pregnant and so moody that sometimes she's borderline irrational.
A. So, what's your question?

Q. My childbirth instructor says it's not pain I'll feel during labor, but pressure. Is she right?
A. Yes, in the same way that a tornado might be called an air current.

Q. When is the best time to get an epidural?
A. Right after you find out you're pregnant.

Q. Is there anything I should avoid while recovering from childbirth?
A. Yes, pregnancy.

Q. Do I have to have a baby shower?
A. Not if you change your baby's diaper very quickly.

Q. Our baby was born last week. When will my wife begin to feel normal again?
A. When the kids are in their 40's.

Hope this brought you lots of chuckles....it did me!!

Which One?

I received some of my WISH RAK's and here's what I made with them...but, please tell me which one you like best (I can't make up my mind?!) I like the round half circle on the first one because it kinda resembles a "belly". And I like the scallops on the second one, even though none of these colors are actually baby-ish. But, then again, baby hasn't arrived YET and so this is really just a card for "her". I will do a lighter, brighter baby card after he/she arrives. So, what do ya think??

Stamp images are from "Swell News", and the paper is from the Spring Blossoms pack (? at least I think that's what it was called?).

EDITED: I just found out that Crystal has a blog! Crystal was the very talent and very sweet gal who sent me these images. Here's a link to her blog {Stampin & More with Crystal}..if you get a chance, go check her out!!

or this one??
