I don't know about all of you, but the leaves are already falling off our trees here, and although it's still in the 70's during the day, it's getting very cold at night--so much so, that if we leave our windows open all night, we freeze our little buns off by morning!! :) Gotta say, though, that I LOVE the cooler weather! Yesterday at work, I left a little tiny window open and felt the cool breeze coming through and it's soo refreshing! So, I thought I would change up my blog once again to something fallish. I came across Hugh Stockton's fabulous gallery online and wrote him for permission to use this "Bridge to Fall" photo on my blog and he did give temporary copyright for that. :) So, I hope you enjoy it. Been playing with colors a bit on my test blog, but I think I'll stick with the Default one for now.
SO...are your kids back in school yet? Mine go back on FRIDAY, the 7th. Yup...a Friday! Friday seems so weird, but I guess it gets all that back to school oreintation out of the way.
My boys went back last Wednesday. This is the first full week. Then of course next Monday is off already.
Wow, That's so strange to start on a Friday. Emily starts Kindergarten on Thursday this week, and Alexa starts on Tuesday of next week.
I'm surprised how late your school is starting.
The thing I remember the most about the first day of school when my kids were young was the fact that I did not have to pry them out of bed, they were so excited the first day & was ready & raring to go. It was back to prying them out of bed every day after that!
Due to labor day, fair and rodeo my kiddo's don't go back to school until Wednesday next week. And my sophomore in college doesn't start until Sept 19th!
Schools start here next Wednesday. DS #2 started his Masters classes tonight. Summer is just about over :(

Friday is a weird start day! My kids start tomorrow. My oldest will be a 3rd grader and my middle child starts kindergarten. My *baby* starts preschool next week. It's hot here for the Bay Area (81) and we generally have our best weather in September and October so I love Fall up here.
We homeschool, so school for us started on August 1.
My oldest went back to school on Aug 13 and the youngest started school yesterday. It is so weird having both kids in school full time.
This is the first year I do not have to worry about school. My daughter graduated from college last year. It is a little sad but we are preparing for a wedding, December 1. I think preparing for school would be easier. Still hot here would love for you to send some cooler weather to Virginia.
How strange to start on a Friday! Mine go back on Wednesday, September 5th. What state are you in that you have such deliciously cool days already? I can't wait to smell fall in the air and go apple picking! The only downside to the fall coming, is school starting. I really miss my kids when they go back. My husband laughs at me every year for getting all teary eyed!
I'm an empty-nester, so no back-to-school worries for me! Our Grandson started school Aug. 15th. Wish I had some of your nice cool weather (we're still up at 97 & 98 degrees - at 10pm it's usually still hot outside. When I was in school I really enjoyed the first day too - especially the smells of new pencils, paper & books - I know, I must be weird!!
My 4 year old is starting kindergarten on the 4th. The more I think about it the more sappy I get. I can't believe she's getting so grown up.
Kids are back in school. We start early here. (Aug 13th) Our schools have a fall break in Oct. so that's something nice to look forward to. :)
I used to be beyond excited the night before going back to school, because we came home from 2 mo's. up north the day before, a new pair of school shoes and maybe a pixie cut too! It was fun to see all the city classmates again, and we loved finding out who our teachers were. Highlight of 1st day was coming home with new books, (pencils, pens, workbooks, too then lol), and we'd sit and make book covers from my moms left over wallpaper and we loved this! September 5th can't come any sooner! My cousin is getting married on the 1st and after that it's back to school and an end to one very hectic, up and down summer!
My sons start school next Tuesday, it is nice not having to worry about thier school schedule when making Labor Day Weekend plans.

Great blog and thanks for the chance for some blog candy. My children are grown and married with the oldest working on his master's. My only grandchild is 5 months old. I on the other hand am a substitute school teacher and we went back to school on Aug. 9th.
My last school aged child started today. Ahhhhh... it is so quiet and peaceful! ;)
Oh... I also wanted to add that I love your new banner, it's so pretty!
It's still pretty warm here, but we're supposed to get a break and be in the 80's this weekend. Whooohooo!

Where DID the summer go?! My kids are all in or out of college, and the ones still in started last week in NC and two days ago here in NY.
My kids started on Monday---well, so did I. I started a new job as a teacher's aide Monday. My favorite thing when I went to school was writing on the chalkboard...I don't know why, I just loved it.

I don't have kids but I am a teacher and I am back in school! So far so good. Even as a teacher my mom calls on the first day to wish me well.
My 2 went back to school on the 20th - I love having some extra 'ME" time - a little any because first I try to catch up on yard and house works that just seems to slide in the summer.
