Can You believe it?? What will they come up with next? Okay, so for those of you cat lovers out there, tomorrow is your day to "hug your cat"!! Lol. You may also want to send a fun kitty greeting from 123 Greetings. They have the cutest e-cards I've seen. Have a Happy H.Y.C.D.!!

My Baby Turns 7 today!

Make A Wish Can't believe my youngest is already 7 yrs. old Weepy

I have a tradition on each of their birthdays to go to the flower store and pick the prettiest rose and have it wrapped up with baby's breath and get a cute balloon tied to it, and then I take it to the school office and have it delivered to her classroom. I put on the note that it's from her "secret admirer". It's fun and adds a little mystery to their day. Also, my husband always makes a point to go have lunch with them on their special day at school. Tonight she wanted to go bowling for her birthday, so we're doing that with my parents and they have the Best pizza there!!

And now for some PUNCHY FUN!!: I came across this card of scrapperaddict on SCS just yesterday and knew I had to do that for Madalyn's card. She loves ladybugs. So, here's my CASE (copy and share with everyone) with just a few tweaks:
I cuttlebugged the black c.s. with the divine swirl folder--can't see that here. I don''t have the PaperTrey Ink's Little Lady set...YET!! So, I made her out of SU!'s oval punches and circle punches! I just drew on the black dots with a marker.
This sketch may look familiar since I just did one couple days ago. You can find it here {SC126}. I used Green Galore with the Paisley bg for one strip and gg through the crimper for the other. There's black brads at the end of her antenaes, and I used my KF snap stamps for the saying. Oh ya...and the set "Riveting" for the circle dealy.
WELL...I'm sure you've prolly all seen this tag on everyone's blog by now...but I was tagged twice by Sherrie and Donna, and I'm not sure that it makes for the most interested blog post, but those of you who DO like that kind of thing, I'll amuze you!! LOL!!

Delight in Mauve

You've prolly had all you can take from me for one day, huh?? I feel like I've been doing a stamping marathon! I sooo wish my camera would take better pics! Oh wait... maybe it's ME :) Yup, that's it I'm sure!! I'm like the worst picture taker (photographer--whatever!!) heehee. I'm sooo used to my daughter correcting everything I say it drives me nuts!!

HOLY TAMOLIE!! I just looked at my gallery on SCS and this card already has 50 comments in less than 1 day!! WOW! :) Thanks girls to those who left me a comment...glad you likie :)

OKAY: This was for the sketch challenge today...OOPS, I mean tomorrow!! I found the post early tonight and I'm up, so I figured I'd do just one more. Here's the link to the sketch challenge. It's a fun one...they say it's a good one to use up those scraps just lying around, but who wants scraps when you just bought a HUGE BOOK of coordinating cardstock from Wal-Mart?! Not I!! :)

I had to dig up my old retired Mauve Mist ink pad, because that color was the closest to the papers I wanted to use. In fact, it matches pretty closely. I'm noticing that the later the evening goes on, the more I like to ramble! In fact, if it were about 3 a.m. right now, I'd bet you would catch me writing a 5 page post about nothing at all!! I've been known to get up when I can't sleep and think I've got the cleverest thoughts on something stupid and I write this long note to myself, just to find in the mornign when I re-read it that it was the dumbest thing I've ever heard, and I chuck it in the garbage!! Do YOU guys ever do that??

Anyway, back to my card. I used Dazzling Diamonds for the flower centers. I used fiskars "cloud" scissors for the large scallops--they are so great for those! Everything else is pretty much self - explainatory. Gotta go now. Won't be posting tomorrow. I've got another funeral :(

A Great Weekend

Just thought I'd share some pics I took this weekend of the gang working hard on our new deck out back for our bunnies. He's in the process of building (2) 5 foot long hutches to go on either side of that deck. It will have fencing all around it and a roof over top when it's all done. Here are some pics. The one of the cage is of course one of our bunnies (flower). She loves playing in a big box and she's popping her head out to say hi. We also went to my parents for a BBQ and had a really nice time, but I didn't take the camera over, so you just get to see a little around the house.
Maddy loves to pose, and Carly's trying hard not to let you see her missing teeth!!

Tent Topper Tuesday

I love these cute little "Tent Toppers" that were started by Michelle Wooderson (?) or so I've heard :) I also used today's Color Challenge on SCS which was Cool Caribbean; Garden Green; and Chocolate Chip.

The main body of the card is 4.25" square and the topper makes it 5.5" total in heighth. I finally got around to using my MUCH WANTED set, Delight in Life that I won on Starr Mercer's blog. You can't see it well, but there's dazzling diamonds in the centers of all the flowers.

I got really lucky with this one. I had cut my c.s. first b4 deciding what to do with it, then I used the swirly stamp all around and it fit perfectly in that square!! Whew...don'tcha just love it when a card comes together??!! Raise The Roof

Niece's Wedding Shower

THANK YOU sooo much Heather S. for the awesome silver cards/envies...they are such a blessing!! I just heard today that my niece's colors for her wedding are primarily Turquoise with Silver accents and then her flowers will be various pinks. I had no silver cardstock b4 now, so I'm so thankful that I won some blog candy recently!! :)

This is just a simple card for her shower. I plan to do a different one for her wedding...I have a bride/groom stamp that is perfect for those occassions. The bottom pink ribbon is from the SU! mini catty called "FLIRTY" (love that!) and then I paired it with some light pink polka-dot ribbon that I bought from Janet's ribbon share.

The flowers and saying are from Su!'s Happy Harmony set, and I cuttlebugged the turquoise with the Textile folder. The stamped circle is taped directly to turquoise, but the turq. and silver layers are on pop dots...that brings them out closer to the depth of the ribbon. :) This card took less than 30 min. to make. Easy peasy, but elegant too.

FS16 KED - Redo Card

Don't worry...I didn't chuck my other one in the garbage or anything, but I did want to re-do this challenge because I just love this card so much, and I have a friend's daughter's birthday coming up this week, so I made another. This one is more proportioned and you can see just a couple changes, but it's pretty much just like my previous post. Just wanted to share :)

Hope you're all having a fun Memorial Day today!! We're going to mom and dad's later for a BBQ. And this afternoon we are working on our new deck out back (for the bunny hutches. My oh My are those bunnies getting terribly spoiled!! It'll have a roof over it and all!!)

Featured Stamper: KED

Sundays are "Featured Stamper" days at SCS, and the gallery we searched today was none other than Kirsten Dubosque's "Confessions of a Naptime Stamper". The challenge is to pick a card out of her gallery to copy, except you have to change at least 2 things (layout, color combo, stamps, etc). I picked this card of hers, and I changed the stamp sets, and I made the main focus a circle and scallop circle rather than a square. The verse is from Edgy Eloquence and the ballerina is from Beautiful Ballerinas set. The bottom half of the pixie pink is cuttlebugged with Bloom Dots, and there's a transparency sheet over pink layers with the verse stamped in Black Stazon ink. There's Dazzling Diamonds on her tutu and shoes! :)

The problem I had with this card is that everything on mine looks scrunched together--not enough room for everything. Hers was square and I assumed it was 4.25", but I think it must have been 5.25"--one inch on a card does a lot!! I only had regular card-sized envies, so I couldn't make mine that large. So, this wouldn't win in the "execution" dept., (not that I'm entering it anywhere--it was a figure of speech) but I think it makes a pretty cute girlie card for someone special :)

My 8 yr. old's Card

My 8 yr. old, Carly made this card.Horse 2 She has a book that teaches you how to draw horses, and this was one she made for her babysitter's birthday!

I thought we'd try Cambria's corner tute, which this doesn't look anything like it because it's a much larger scale, but none-the-less :) She saw the card I made earlier today with the sewn edges and she begged me to sew her letters on. Okay...can I just say Oh--My--Gosh!! That was soooo tricky as some of her letters were so small!! Not to mention that I still can't sew a straight line and about 2 wks ago was my 1st time ever in like 10 yrs. that I've used a machine!! :) Anyway, I'm pretty sure Katy won't see this blog, so I thought I'd upload and show you this. Heart was punched out using CM's smallest heart punch. Letters were just hand-cut out by my dd. :) Thanks for lookin'!!

Everything's In Bloom

I sewed a card!! My first time using my new sewing machine on a card...TOLD YOU (I can't sew a straight line!...guess I need practice!) :)

The challenge today was to use YoYo Yellow...whew was that a challenge. I don't think I've used this color in the last 2 years. But, I had this cute ribbon, so this was a perfect time to get it out. I also used Petal Prints for the flower in the center, and Bloom Dots Cuttlebug folder, and topped it off with a flower brad. I think it definately screams SUMMER...which I'm soo ready for!

New Blogger!!

Another new blogger, Jan Hannicutt, has an awesome new blog. It's called "She's Gone Stampin'" You won't be disappointed--her cards are sooo awesome!! Please go check her out and leave her a comment! :)

Frolicking Froggy

This was for today's sketch challenge #125. Doesn't show it well, but there's Crystal Effects with Dazzling Diamonds for the water. I used the Cuttlebug folder "Tiny Bubbles" - so appropriate, don'tcha think? Colors are Bordering Blue, Cert. Celery; Artichoke; Pretty in Pink. This sketch was very simple, so I kept my whole card simple. :)

A Sketch & Color Challenge

Trying to get a little caught up on these challenges, so I combined last week's sketch challenge #124 and today's color challenge #115. I really had no idea what stamp set to use, but I had this "simple Somethings" sitting on my desk and I've never used this stamp b4, so I thought it could work with these colors. I have no idea what to use it for? But I do like the sketch and maybe it'll brighten someone's day.

Blogger Needs Encouragement!!

My friend Sarah started a stamping blog in December called Stampin' With Sarah, but she really hasn't done much blogging since. She's an SU! demo and just got a new scanner so she can upload her cards and other creations. She's made some really cute things, and I think she just needs some encouragement from some other stampers out there. Please visit her super cute blog and sign her guestbook!!

Girlie Zebra

And here is my last card for the set I made earlier {here}. I know she has a couple of grand daughters, so I HAD to throw in a pink one. I think this one turned out pretty cute. Used my ribbon I got from Janet's ribbon share.

Cardstock is Pixie Pink and Black. The circle saying in corner is an SU! hostess set called "Riveting" and the zebra came from Cape Arago Rubber Stamps. The flowers are from the "Fresh Fillers" set by SU! I doodled around zebra using the Signo white gel pen. I've tried other white pens and they don't do nearly as well as this Signo brand. I love how fluid it is and it's perfect...after my first one, I ended up buying 3 at once--YES, it's that good! Lol!! :)

Let's Get Together!

I'm not so sure about this one?? Not Sure
The straight line doesn't really go very well with the wavy line. I used my new acrylic stamps for this one and paired it with the Basic Grey "Blush" dp cause I think the flowers matches perfectly. The vevelt ribbon matches a lot better IRL. I put pop dots behind each of the circles and again on the teal flower. Chalk this one up to "not executed well" I guess? Oh well...

Engelbreit Inspired

I joined a swap with a "Tea, Teacups, Lattes, etc" theme recently. I also got a new sewing machine this weekend, and was able to finish up my Mary Engelbreit apron. I love the cute teacups/pots etc on the material, so I tried to recreate one on a card. I made the template myself, as Donovan site was down. (BTW...does anyone know what's up with that?? Did it move??) and this is how it came out. The flowers I stamped even resemble the ones in the material!! Go figure...the set I used was the old retired "Beautiful Ballerinas" set, Lol!! I sponged all the peices before assembling. I used a white gel pen for the stripes on the black, and for the polka-dots on the red. The "handle" is also a stamp out of the ballerinas set, and I stamped it on white c.s., then colored in with markers and added crystal effects to make it puffy and shiny. Then I added it to the top with a small pop dot.

You can't see it in this picture, but the black cardstock is cuttlebugged with the Bloom Dots embossing folder and opposite corners have the paper piercing. Looks cute up close. The "steam" is the smaller stamp out of the "Like it a Latte" set. Here's a picture of my finished apron: (the black material has little cherries/stems all over it)

and here's the teapot on the apron that I "copied"

Finished Accordian Book/Card

You've probably seen this accordian book before (unfinished) and my box HERE, but I finally got the inside done... Woohoo!! So, I thought I'd better take pictures before I give this away tomorrow--to my mom.

I found this Mother's Day poem by Nicholas Gordon, and I just LOVE the combination of fonts used in the stamp set called "Edgy Eloquence", so I typed up his poem... horray for me that it ended up being 6 parts--one for each of the panels... and I used fonts very close to the EE stamp set!! I also used flowers from several different sets: Terrific Tulips, Roses in Winter; Heartfelt Thanks, and Petal Prints. Here are the pictures:

POEM: "Happy Mother's Day is more than have a happy day. Within those words lie lots of things we never get to say. It means I love you first of all, then thanks for all you do. It means you mean a lot to me, and that I honor you. But most of all, I guess it means that I am thinking of your happiness on this, your day, with pleasure and with love." -Nicholas Gordon

P.S. Please forgive me for not sending out the things I said I would last week. I was sick for 5 days straight this week and didn't get to the post office. I'm better now, so am planning on getting those out on Monday (ie. blog candy & swaps). Thanks for being patient. Have a very happy weekend!!

Flowers For Mom

Pot O' Sunshine CASE

STAMPS: Terrific Tulips; Floral; Antique Cracking; Tags So Much
CARDSTOCK: Real Red; Always Artichoke; Whisper White
ACCESSORIES: gold brads; pop dots; red & saffron markers; red/white gingham ribbon; tag punch; 1/16" hole punch

I just recieved this Terrific Tulips stamp set (that I always wanted and never bought) so I thought what a perfect set to make a Birthday card for my MIL. I knew there were tons of cards in the SCS gallery and to be honest, there are 9 stamps in this set and I wasn't really too sure which ones went together, so I searched the gallery for samples. When I came across this one by One Happy Stamper, it jumped out at me and I was taken aback. I LOVE this card! I used mono adhesive for the large saffron/red tulips in the back and all the others are on pop dots for that 3-d effect. The pot was stamped lightly with Antique Cracking stamp and then I "Direct-to-Paper"ed all around the edges, which just means that I swiped the edge of the c.s. across the ink pad. I didn't add saffron ink to my ribbon like she did just because I was cramming 4 holidays into one, but I do like what she did there. :) HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY EVERYONE!!

Gramma's Picture Wallet Card

Here's my wallet card for my mom. I saw this cute little thing over at Lorie's blog . The middle one opens up to the right. I used the Delightful Scrap Pack for this one, and I used "Little Letters" for gramma.
And here it is opened.
